The Swedish Summer Vacation Guide

August 23, 2018 by DaveLeave a Comment

The land in the north has many things to offer for those who enjoy the closeness to nature or walking old streets with embedded history. If you were thinking about polar bears walking the streets of Sweden, you got it wrong! In fact: they don’t even exist in Sweden. We put together a guide for your perfect summer vacation to Sweden.

A trip to Scandinavia requires lots of planning in order to afford the costs of airfare, accommodation, and transportation. This is the perfect timing to take advantage of travel benefits by applying for a travel credit card prior to your trip to Sweden. Earn points by booking flights, rent hotels, and partake in great car rental deals.

If your credit score is too low for your ideal credit card, ScoreShuttle may be able to help. ScoreShuttle is a technology for managing your credit score objectives, and could potentially boost your score by disputing inaccurate data on your credit report. With ScoreShuttle, you can put your credit on cruise control so you can focus on planning that sweet trip to Scandinavia.

Smögen: the perfect west
Think idyllic, colorful, and on the water. Welcome to Smögen! This small fishermen town turned into one of Sweden’s hot spots a few decades ago, yet managed to keep the small village feeling in check without expanding. The main strip is located on the 1000 meter wooden deck surrounded by shops, bars and restaurant on the land side, and with sailboats and yachts on the water side. Here you’ll find the some of best seafood in the country, water adventures, cliff jumpings, and concerts for all night birds ready to dance off the long daylight nights. Yes, you heard it, Swedish summer nights are ones to remember as it never gets dark.

Get cozy in Värmland
For those who enjoy thick forests and deep blue lakes, Värmland is you safe card. This region is located inland with the same distance to the west coast, east costs and Norway. In Sweden, you never have to look for lakes as you’ll find them around every corner. Here you can fish for sweetwater crayfish, paddle cannot, pick wild berries in the forest, and maybe, run into a moose. When the hunger kicks in, don’t forget to pull over by one of many street burger shops, where you’ll find a Swedish traditional fast food dish to remember. Hot dog and mashed potatoes wrapped in thin bread. Yum!

Set sail to Gotland
Remember the red hair Pippi Long Stocking story? The movies were filmed right here in Visby, the capital of Gotland. Gotland is an island between Sweden and Finland, which offer beautiful scenery, long white beaches, and lots of sheep. Yes, this is the island known for the many sheep! Plan a quick stop at one of the largest ice cream shops in the world with its 260 flavors available at all times. Wow! Best ways to explore Visby: tandem bikes!
