Lompoc, CA – A fall getaway to Lompoc means wine harvest season, tempting local cuisine, rich California history, and a place to unwind, relax and take in the beauty of this picturesque Central Coast town. Harvest season is underway, and Lompoc is known for its small production wineries specializing in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and other cool climate varietals from the surrounding Sta. Skuli Mogensen, Founder & CEO WOW air

July 28, 2017 by Dave7 Comments

We first became aware of WOW air several years ago because of their extremely low fares between Iceland and mainland Europe and then again when they started offering $99 fares from select US cities to Iceland. Recently we had the opportunity to interview their founder and CEO Skuli Mogensen. He is an accomplished and creative individual - here are several questions we asked him about WOW air and Iceland. Q. Introduce yourself and tell our … [Read more...]

Why Nashville Is A Bucket List Destination

July 2, 2017 by A Couple for the RoadLeave a Comment

A strange article for me to write is "how cool" Nashville is. Don't get me wrong, it's a great city. In fact now, it's possibly the hottest, growing city in the American South. It's hip. It's cool. People are moving there by the thousands from larger, more well-known cities such as New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Nashville is not only a travel mecca, but in fact a domestic mecca - a place where 30-somethings are congregating in hoards to … [Read more...]

The Top 10 Reasons I Love Taipei

June 18, 2017 by Kaila Yu7 Comments

Taipei City is the capital city of Taiwan, a state in East Asia bounded by China, Japan and the Philippines. It is the political, economic, educational and cultural centre of Taiwan (or more correctly The Republic of China), a modern metropolis with a thriving economy and a vibrant tourism industry. People who flock to Taipei are there for the street food, the night markets, the historical artifacts, the hot springs and its many upscale shops. If … [Read more...]

Penang – An Embodiment of Creative Disruption

May 19, 2017 by Jarard Paige1 Comment

George Town, Penang Much like the street art and street (“hawker”) food that seem to serve as the first definition of modern day Penang, the city is one that is best experienced through the senses. Though the city is still trying to create an identity for itself after it was stripped of such comfort during WWII, it is using vibrant, creative solutions to tell its history, share its beauty and humor, and redevelop itself as Malaysia’s thriving … [Read more...]

Non Stop, Vienna to LAX ‘Sound of Austria’ Austrian Air Launch Party

April 25, 2017 by Dave6 Comments

I recently attended a memorable party for the launch of Austrian Airline's new first ever route from Vienna to Los Angeles offering daily (except Sundays). This party was held at a Bel Air mansion tucked away in one of the highest canyons - located at the end of a cul de sac. Cars snaked down the road - we used uber and walked the last 1/3 of a mile. A red carpet entrance greeted us with Austrian Airline flight attendents wearing a color … [Read more...]

Skiing Tahoe on the Cheap

April 11, 2017 by Abdul Rastagar2 Comments

Not everyone has the luxury of living within reasonable driving distance to Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada's many, amazing snow resorts. So if you are a weekend snow warrior and want to spend Saturday and Sunday on the Tahoe slopes, you’re looking at some pretty nasty expenses that hinder your ability to simply pick up and go: transportation, lodging, lift tickets, meals, and maybe even having to rent equipment. We’re talking, easily, $700-900 per … [Read more...]

48 hours in Los Angeles – Fast, Furious and Fun!

April 3, 2017 by Charlene Scott6 Comments

When you think of Los Angeles, the first thing you think of is Hollywood. But there are many other things to do there that are not related to tinsel town. Recently, I spent a whirlwind weekend in Los Angeles. I hurried off my delayed Southwest flight, found the shuttle bus to the Westin Hotel at Los Angeles Airport. Fifteen minutes later, a quick ride by LA standards, I flew into the hotel room where my friend had already arrived. A quick change … [Read more...]
