LACOT Meetup – JW Marriott, LA LIVE

April 22, 2012 by Dave4 Comments

Got into LAX on Friday afternoon and it was so cold as I stood outside waiting for the Flyaway bus I could see my breath. Love the Flyaway buses - they get you right to Union Station downtown where you can connect directly with the metro or metrolink. So easy. Jumped on the red line and like … [Read more...]

Fun at Los Angeles Events

September 23, 2011 by Dave3 Comments

Rode in to town on the 5 on the inspirational wings of Don MaClean's American Pie blasting away on KRTH 101.1 FM. I was in town for only about a day and it was packed with events. I always like how whenever I spend any sort of time in Los Angeles events just seem to materialize. … [Read more...]

Prowling the Sproul State Forest in Pennsylvania

August 2, 2011 by Marianne RuaneLeave a Comment

"There's a view there, but I'm not too sure how good it will be." View? I was all about the view. That was the reward for a difficult hike. That was the explanation I gave to my mother who could not understand "why anyone would want to walk up a mountain" - how else would I get to see wonderful vistas? How else could I stand in awe at my own puniness in the face of nature's grandness? And this hike had promised three vistas, at least one of them … [Read more...]
