Lynn Gilmartin: Australian Presenter and Traveler

August 12, 2013 by Dave1 Comment

We first stumbled upon Lynn's travel videos inadvertently while doing research for another interview. Poker, International travels, well being - yes, this looks like a great lifestyle! We thank Lynn for taking time out of her busy schedule to do this interview - at the time of this interview, she was actually in the process of moving to Los Angeles from Melbourne Australia. Q. What (or who) was your initial motivation to initially start … [Read more...]

Exploring Little Liechtenstein

June 15, 2013 by Dave5 Comments

We showed up in Vaduz (the capital city) - knowing little more about this small country - other than it was small and fairly mountainous and that there is a royal family. "Small Country Europe" was the latest self titled trip to the continent- we had already visited San Marino and Monaco and Lichtenstein certainly fit this "small" role. We drove up from Lago di Como in Italy ultimately passing through Logano. I have been to Switzerland several … [Read more...]

Visiting Monaco

June 7, 2013 by Dave2 Comments

Monaco is the world's second smallest independent nation, the most expensive country based on per capita income, containing the most expensive real estate in the world across the country and the world's most densely populated country! We weren't sure what to expect prior to visiting this remarkably wealthy country. You know you are in Monaco when you hear the throaty growl of some super car in the distance racing through the steep hills of … [Read more...]

Enjoying the quaint towns along the Italian and Southern French Riviera

June 4, 2013 by Dave4 Comments

We are driving a large Land Rover that my brother's friend let him borrow indefinitely. While this car is great for off roading - I've heard Land Rovers seem especially prone to break downs. This vehicle is less then 10 years old - not that many kilometers on it and already its showing problems. The power randomly stops when you are driving down the highway - we are having problems with the brakes - the maintenance parking brake light is on ... … [Read more...]

Lisa Niver: RTW Traveler

April 16, 2013 by Dave3 Comments

I first met Lisa a number of years ago at an event in Los Angeles. Her unbridled enthusiasm for International travel is truly contagious. Few people are lucky to go on one Round the World Trip (RTW) in a lifetime; Lisa has been privileged to experience two RTW trips and in fact at the time of this original interview, was currently in the midst of her 2nd RTW trip. The circumstances around receiving this interview were somewhat convoluted (as … [Read more...]

Magnificent Macau

July 28, 2012 by JustinLeave a Comment

As a tourist destination in Asia, Macau pretty much has it all. Bustling nightlife with amazing casinos and gambling entertainment, beautiful beaches, an amazing heritage of Portuguese and Chinese culture and luxury resorts offering accommodation at low prices all vie for your attention on this small, densely populated island. Gambling is the number one industry in Macau and the multitude of casinos are a huge attraction for visitors as Macau … [Read more...]

Wines that Complement Games

August 2, 2011 by Dave LevartLeave a Comment

Major International gambling hubs include Macau (tiny island off China's mainland coast), Las Vegas, Monte Carlo and Singapore. Alcohol and casinos often go hand in hand - free drinks are usually offered by scantily clad servers. Most of the time they offer cocktails or stiff drinks or even beer but why not make your beverage of choice wine - the perfect accompaniment for playing the slot machines, dealing cards or playing video … [Read more...]

Visit Macau – November 2010

November 1, 2010 by DaveLeave a Comment

Macau is a small island located about an hour's ferry ride from the main ferry terminal in Hong Kong (or about 16 minutes via Helicopter from the same ferry terminal). Macau has its own immigration and you will need your passport to enter and exit the country. Typically both Hong Kong dollars and the Pataca (local currency) are accepted. Macau was controlled by Portugal for 400+ years and the Portuguese have certainly left their mark on the … [Read more...]
