Rivers Casino and Resort Revitalizing Schenectady New York

July 2, 2018 by Steve MirskyLeave a Comment

Schenectady has a long heritage of commerce and industry dating back to Dutch traders and later when the Erie Canal and the city's strategic location at the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers just above Albany made it a thriving trade port. Evidence of this early prosperity abounds in the Stockade Historic District, the oldest residential neighborhood in the United States. Walking the streets is like stepping back in time with whole … [Read more...]

Lake Louise, Alberta – July 2018

July 1, 2018 by Dave3 Comments

Lake Louise is one of the planet's most inspirational natural destinations. The lake changes colors - dramatically so, depending on the time of day, how much light there is and or cloud cover. This glacially fed lake contains the most awe inspiring shades of aquamarines, blues and other colors. The jagged glacier and snow covered mountains are reflected in its waters on clear days. A trail leads around the side of the lake - walk as long or as … [Read more...]

In the summer of 2017, a new amusement park opened its doors in Foley, Alabama. OWA, pronounced like oh-wah, is located just 9 miles from Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama. It is the only park of its kind in the state of Alabama and the Gulf Coast as well, since Hurricane Katrina destroyed Six Flags New Orleans in 2005. OWA is the perfect destination for family summer fun along Alabama's Gulf  Coast. The name OWA was inspired from the … [Read more...]

Enjoying a Diversity of Experiences in Yangon, Myanmar

June 21, 2018 by Dave20 Comments

After landing at the modern airport in Yangon we quickly purchased a sim card with a local phone number. We were told that in the last few years the price of Internet and cell phones have dropped dramatically. One tour guide told us that in the last 10 years mobile phones have gone from costing more then $1000 to now being relatively affordable. Our taxi driver informed us that traffic in Yangon can be intense - horrific at times - traffic … [Read more...]

The Mists of Time: Table Mountain to Myself

June 20, 2018 by Pete Martin3 Comments

This morning from my balcony, way out in the bay I spot a container ship blazoned with the logo of the company I used for my trip across the Pacific Ocean a few years ago. It sparks some wonderful memories. Whilst the bus is here, our guide is not so my fellow cyclist and I wait around. It’s the story of my time here. I have decided not to do the four hour hike up Table Mountain. I originally did not want to walk it because of my knee pain but … [Read more...]

June 1, 2018 by DaveLeave a Comment

Lahema National Park is located about an hour outside of Tallinn, Estonia and is the largest National park in the country. It is home to over 200 bird species and around 900 different species of plants. On your way you can visit Jagala Falls, Estonia's most massive falls (about 8 meters tall). Romantic tour Verona: city of Romeo and Juliet

May 30, 2018 by Federico PLeave a Comment

Verona is one of the most romantic city in the world; the town of Love, as a lot of people use to call Verona. This because of the words Verona and love go hand in hand like Romeo and Juliet. It is not difficult to understand why Shakespeare chose this city for his unfortunate lovers. Verona is the city of the Arena, the Roman Amphitheater so majestic and full of poetry that everyone in the world envy us for the emotions that can give. Verona … [Read more...]

Wine Tasting in Myanmar

May 21, 2018 by Dave23 Comments

When traveling abroad, I always seek out wineries whenever possible. To some, going wine tasting in Myanmar might be somewhat of a surprise - an anomaly and to an extent it is. However, there are two wineries in the country, (Aythaya Vineyard and Red Mountain Estate) both in the vicinity of Inle Lake. Red Mountain Estate Winery is located on the outskirts of the small town of Nyaungshe. As one arrives, one quickly sees vineyards lining the … [Read more...]
