Origami Unicorn, Travel Undergarment Organizer

Travel Products > Luggage Reviews

Origam-Unicorn (3)I have been packed for years, at times for an almost perpetual state of motion. This has been especially true in the last 6 months with trips stacked up one after each other. Both my suitcase and backpack remain ready to ‘rock and roll’ – each one is always in some state of being packed and I can quickly grab either one depending on the type and length of trip. This travel state of limbo has worked well to date, granted nothing is very well organized – my one piece of organization is simply a thick plastic bag for keeping under garments separate from the rest of my clothing and items.

Recently Origami Unicorn, a design studio in San Francisco, CA reached out to me to try their Travel Undergarment Organizer (TUO for short).

A visit to their website shows a simple creed, “We design and develop products that improve everyday life.” Sounds good to me!

Lets take a look at the TUO:

It is lightweight, compartmentalized, fold-able and easy to hang. The thee compartments contained within could be used for three days of undergarments or simply used to separate out individual items. I used this on a recent trip to separate out not only my small pieces of clothing but also my medicine bag, toiletries and other various personal items. I hung it in the bathroom for easy access.

The zipper on each compartment is highlighted by a background color that stands out from the rest of the product (making it easy to see where to open) – little details like this are nice. Mesh see-through nets cover all three compartments. The top two compartments have three tiny pouches each – perfect for storing socks.

An accessory to the main compartment is a small lightweight bag – meant to be used as a small laundry bag but to date, I have certainly found this useful for additional storage.

Comes in 5 colors/designs.
