October 1, 2018 by DaveLeave a Comment

Bonaire is a small mostly flat island that is part of the Netherlands' overseas territories. Along with Aruba and Curacao it makes up the ABC islands - Bonaire is by far the least developed of these three islands. Very popular with divers - there are numerous marked dive sites - especially along the Queens Highway north of Kralendijk (the primary town on the island). Many of these dive sites can be accessed directly from the shore. The island … [Read more...]

Visit Bratislava – September 2018

September 1, 2018 by Dave2 Comments

Old town Bratislava is one of Europe's smallest in a capital city. As a result it is fairly easy to explore the city, spending time to explore it's cobblestone streets and visiting small cafe's and restaurants; this part of town is a great place to just relax especially outdoors during warm summer days. The Danube flows by in its multi-country journey through this part of Europe. Several "botels" (floating boat hotels") are anchored along its … [Read more...]

Lake Louise, Alberta – July 2018

July 1, 2018 by Dave3 Comments

Lake Louise is one of the planet's most inspirational natural destinations. The lake changes colors - dramatically so, depending on the time of day, how much light there is and or cloud cover. This glacially fed lake contains the most awe inspiring shades of aquamarines, blues and other colors. The jagged glacier and snow covered mountains are reflected in its waters on clear days. A trail leads around the side of the lake - walk as long or as … [Read more...]

Jerusalem, Israel – May 2018

May 1, 2018 by DaveLeave a Comment

A visit to Jerusalem is about religion, culture and several thousand years of history which is most obviously seen in the old walled part of the city. Tel Aviv is only about 45 minutes away with its seaside location, and makes a good entry point into Israel - yet the feel in Jerusalem is decidedly different despite being so close geographically. People come from around the world here - a number of them religious pilgrims, reverent at seeing what … [Read more...]
