Hi and welcome to Not Another Travel Blog! We’re going to be sharing the story of how we quit our jobs to travel the world and did that old cliche of starting a travel blog to to track our adventures. We’ve always been keen travellers, trying to squeeze as much foreign travel as possible out of our annual leave allowances, so when our circumstances at work changed and we chose to take voluntary redundancy, taking some time out to travel seemed like the obvious option. Well kind of.

I live and work in London, and I love to travel. I also love to write, so I had this brilliant, original idea of starting a travel blog.

At 29 I decided to quit my awesome job in digital advertising to travel the world

My first big trip started in 2011 when I quit my job once I realized I had enough frequent flier miles to book a round-the-world ticket, costing me just $368.

Three years later I felt like I should do the "grown up" thing again and went back to the cubicle world. I ended up flight testing a cool new passenger jet before packing it in again and leaving for the current round of adventures in January of 2016.

So far I have been to all continents, 80+ countries, all states and territories in the US, and countless islands in the Pacific. #majorAddict

Cat holds a fascination and excitement about the outdoors and new adventures. She attempts to keep an open mind, sturdy travel legs, and a sense of humor that tends to be an acquired taste. With that in mind, Cat hopes to share her travels, triumphs and failures, and general musings that (hopefully) get at least a small laugh or two.

I'm Katy and can be found eating cakes, writing novels, travel blogging or backpacking around the world. The aim behind NotWedorDead is to inspire you with my journey from a jilted bride to a travel addict.
