Cat holds a fascination and excitement about the outdoors and new adventures. She attempts to keep an open mind, sturdy travel legs, and a sense of humor that tends to be an acquired taste. With that in mind, Cat hopes to share her travels, triumphs and failures, and general musings that (hopefully) get at least a small laugh or two.

I'm Katy and can be found eating cakes, writing novels, travel blogging or backpacking around the world. The aim behind NotWedorDead is to inspire you with my journey from a jilted bride to a travel addict.

2013, at a party, I told a guy I would love to travel again. But more importantly – I wanted to travel PERMANENTLY. He listened intently, nodded his head and said: “That sounds like you have thought this over quite thoroughly. But if that’s what you want, why don’t you just do it?”

Travel has always been a big part of my life. Some of my earliest memories involve the cabin of a Boeing 747 en route to Canada, where I spent every summer poring over my grandmothers extensive National Geographic collection. Struck by the stunning images and stories of far-flung places, I resolved to leave my native Hong Kong at the age of 18 to begin a new life in Europe.

Since the day weve met we have constantly been fueling each others desire to travel. We love our home city of Boston, but recently that travel bug grew too big to ignore. This culminated into us leaving our jobs behind and heading out on a trip around the world.

Here, you will hopefully find humor, grammar nerdiness, and travel stories. And hopefully no more writers referring to themselves in the third person for dramatic effect. It’s lazy.
