Through this blog I simply want to impart some of the things I’ve learnt along the way about travelling, studying, working and (most of all) living abroad. I also want to write about and share some of the amazing places I’ve encountered along the way. This blog is for anyone with a passion for travel, and for anyone who’s interested in travelling or living abroad.

Travel brings chaos, anxiety, and heightened emotions that can quickly ruin a day, no matter how good you are at planning ahead. We decided we were determined not to let that tension pit us against each other, so we had to learn some serious patience and cooperation. Traveling together pushed us to grow and bonded us in ways we might have otherwise never done. It's also incredibly, undeniably romantic. How else can you feel like the only two people in the world, even when you're surrounded by crowds of people?

The Whole World is a Playground is made up of the awesome husband and wife team, Elaine and Dave, who share a massive love for all things travel!

A drunken conversation in the summer of 2014 about wanting something different from life led to us deciding to save up, quit our jobs and go see the world. It’s something we’d dreamt about for quite a while and we both reached the point where we stopped making excuses and asked ourselves “why not”? You only live once right?!

I’m a travel enthusiast and have loved travelling for as long as I can remember. My passion for seeing new places was discovered thanks to some amazing family holidays

These days I spend my time traveling around the world but I didn’t always have a desire to travel overseas or see other countries, I always wanted to buy a house, retire young, have lots of money, a successful career or run my own business but travel didn’t interest me.

It’s nice to meet you, we’re the Wise Travellers, Tiago and Sandrina, a couple from Portugal. We had been friends a lifetime and we have so many adventures and histories together, so now it’s time to share with the world.
