In 2010, I made my first travel-dream come true by going to the USA on my own. During 5 months, I visited NYC, Washington DC, Philadephia, San Diego, Los Angeles, Hawaii and I studied English in San Francisco (I fell in love with this city). Finally, I came back to Bordeaux where I worked for a year and a half before the wanderlust got me again.

I’m Raj. I decided to start The Two Roads website to share my passion and experiences of travelling, food and photography.

I created The Two Week Traveler to show you that you can have meaningful, wonderful experiences around the world even if you only have a few weeks of time off a year. You may not be able to see all of Southeast Asia on one vacation, but you can do a lot more than youd think.

I married my long-time love last year and followed him to his station in Hawaii five days later. We spent way too much time apart over the last few years while he was on a submarine, but we are making up for lost time here in Hawaii on our “two-year honeymoon.”

Originally from different parts of Connecticut, Jimmy and Steph met in Brooklyn, NYC at the beginning of 2015. To make a long story short, we immediately realized we both had a common passion to see the world, and made our first trek through Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. Since then our wanderlust has only grown stronger:

The Urban Traveler was created out of my love of planning, my love of experiences and my love of travel. I’m a 30 something year old Canadian raised by the influences of parents from Europe and from the West Indies. I grew up with Synchronized swimming, Sinterklaas and Soca. A Prime Minister, Poffertjes and the Pan. I am the product of many cultures and I am so very lucky for it.
