Years ago I got the travel bug and somehow I’ve managed to travel regularly and maintain a successful career doing freelance visual effects, graphics and photography. Some people get tired of traveling, but not me. I love planning trips and finding great deals, wandering new places, making people laugh, trying wine and food from other cultures, etc. While big cities can be alluring, I’m drawn mostly to nature and the outdoors.

Strolling along Santa Monica beach following an incredible weekend with good pals in Las Vegas, nursing some serious post-Vegas blues, I was hit by the revelation that travelling* was something that I really enjoyed. I resolved that day to try to find a way to do more of it.

Were Claire and Laura, identical twins, from England. We caught the travel bug in our early twenties after having travelled to Thailand, Kenya and Japan. Since then, we’ve pretty much spent every pay cheque on travel and, if we’re not travelling, you can usually find us planning our next trip (oh, and working)! Claire works in Marketing and Laura in Fundraising (which we do love, just not as much as travelling).

My name is Lauren Marinigh, I was born in a small town north of Toronto, Canada, called Orillia. Despite the fact that I have small town blood running through my veins, my parents put the travel bug in me at a young age. Growing up I was fortunate enough that whenever there was an opportunity for me to travel, my parents found a way to let me do it, even if it wasn’t in their budget.
