I grew up being fortunate enough to travel – trips during school breaks, visits to my grandparent’s house, and long weekend road trips. The travel bug bit me at a young age, and I was hooked.

By the Seat of My Skirt is a collection of on-the-road adventures and encounters of a girl striving to master the art of spontaneous travel as she wanders the globe in search of new people, places, and experiences.

This blog began with a goal in mind: to chronicle our yearlong round-the-world trip, and bring you the best tips and tricks for visiting the most exotic of locales. We’ve been building this site and planning our trip for months. We decided we were going to quit our jobs and begin our trip in early 2015. We had our route pinned on a map. We had some money in our bank account. And we had that nervous/excited feeling in the pit of our stomachs.

My blog "The Travel Lady In Her Shoes" is all about the ins and outs of traveling, with lots of pictures for viewing!

Just an everyday girl living out my prettiest travel dreams. Exploring the globe taking snapshots in my sunnies.

The bulk of my blog for now will contain photographs, stories, recommendations, etc. from these trips, that is until I embark on my next adventure. I hope you enjoy my blog!
