The main thing to know about me is that I’m a girl who quit her job to travel the world solo. My name is Cali, and in June 2015, I stopped being a corporate slave, cough, I mean engineer, to pursue something I am truly passionate about. Please join me on my journey of travels past and present. I hope to provide some insight, inspiration, and resources in areas that I previously struggled to find advice.

My name is Irena, and I got the travel bug in 2013 after I visited London and Paris for the first time. I came back insatiate within the confinement of going to work, paying bills, and repeating the same routine every day. That's not what I want my life to be and commit to traveling even at home and see the world as much as I can.

We are just two single girls living in Southern California who love to travel.

I travel around the globe, experiencing different cultures, meeting people, and exploring the beauty of different countries and cities. I write about everything under the sun. Travel, Beauty, Food, and many other things, while enjoying the most satisfying simple pleasures life has to offer.

After living as an expat in the UK for so long, I began to feel a little homeless – definitely not British but not quite French anymore, continuing to speak English with an unmistakable Gallic accent, yet struggling to string two sentences together in my native language without inserting many randoms and definitelys ... So, I decided to finally give in to my nagging wanderlust and make my home the whole wide world and an 80L backpack for a while!

If anyone had said to us ten years ago “one day you two will get married, then leave the UK to travel, live and work abroad” we’d never have believed them. In fact we’d have probably laughed at the idea.

This site began as a travel journal for my ‘big trip’ around South America but has now expanded to become an on-going travel journal and outlet for information that I want to share. I hope to offer useful tips on planning and prep, day-to-day discoveries and food information for my fellow Celiac and gluten intolerant travelers. I hope you enjoy reading the posts and photos, but more than anything I hope it inspires you to get out there and see a bit more of our amazing world.

I'm a writer, photographer, and sometime sketch artist. Three years ago, I fell in love...but with the world, not "the one." Ever since that fateful first day in Stockholm, this journey has taken me from a pearl farm in the South Pacific to a rickshaw run across India.
