Tips To Make A Lengthy Vacation Affordable

August 18, 2020 by Pete MLeave a Comment

If you are feeling overdue for a refreshing getaway, you may be contemplating the exceptional benefits of an all rewarding lengthy vacation. However, the longer your stay in your chosen destination, the bigger your budget will need to be as a rule of thumb. The general costs associated with long vacation stays often steers travellers away from the idea. However, there are several ways that you can implement affordability and enjoy a well-deserved long holiday. Here’s how you can ensure affordability is not an issue.

Pocket-Friendly Accommodation Solutions
A five-star hotel is not the best solution if you are hoping to spend an extended time on vacation. What’s more, hotels of all ranks are quite pricey in general, and therefore, it would be best to avoid them as options for accommodation.

Instead of searching for the popular accommodation options, you should consider more affordable solutions, such as downtown Toronto apartments, short-term furnished rentals, and even app rentals options such as Airbnb and others. The relevant savings means you will be able to enjoy your vacation at a pocket-friendly price. Opting for a short-term furnished rental means, you may be able to enjoy your vacation for several weeks rather than a few short days.

Avoid Eating Out Often
Even though you should allow yourself some budget room to eat out now and then, just as you would on the average month, you should avoid eating out often when on vacation. Unfortunately, when dining at a restaurant, you are subject to paying tax three times on your meal. Regardless of this fact, it is no secret that eating out costs a lot more than preparing healthy homecooked meals.

Purchasing groceries and preparing your own meals while on vacation is definitely no taboo for travellers who are money conscious and the effort will aid your lengthy stay significantly in terms of affordability. If you are visiting a culturally rich destination and are hoping to enjoy the local cuisine, navigating the street food culture won’t be too pricey now and then.

Travel Saving Tricks
While you are navigating your destination of choice, there are several ways you can stretch your budget from avoiding costly airport cab costs and opting for cheaper public transport options to renting a vehicle. You may find that even the smallest of savings efforts will contribute towards lengthening your stay.

You can also consider opting for free tourist attractions rather than pricey paid ones. In addition to this, you can consider travelling out of peak season as your flight tickets and accommodation costs will likely be reduced significantly during these times. This is because off-peak seasons host far fewer travellers. Travelling off-peak also means bustling scores of tourists won’t suffocate you, and you can enjoy your stay fully. Whether you are travelling alone or with your family, it is possible to reduce your budget to the bare minimum and still enjoy your vacation without feeling as though you have deprived yourself of a full experience.
