A Gaudi Walk in Barcelona

October 3, 2011 by Miss MociLeave a Comment

The name Antoni Gaudi is synonymous with the magnificent architecture in Barcelona. No visitor gets around admiring the great architectural legacy Gaudi has left. If you happen to stay in apartments in Barcelona directly in the center some of the most prominent Gaudi buildings are in mere walking distance: As a good starting point of a Gaudi walk in the center is the Palau Guell (Carrer Nou de la Rambla, 3) right off the Ramblas. It … [Read more...]

October 3, 2011 by DaveLeave a Comment

We leave for our trip to the Deep South with 38 other Bengalis. We are the only western tourists on this trip - we will fly back because of the great distance and terrible delays that plague the river ways this time of year (usually fog related). Interestingly the airline we fly back on is called United....Airways that is. We are seeking out sightings of the rare Royal Bengal Tiger, one of the last few places in the world that you can see this … [Read more...]

Times Square, New York – October 2011

October 1, 2011 by DaveLeave a Comment

Times Square is an experience of bright neon signs, camera toting tourists, yellow taxis, tourist buses as well as significant noise including the NYPD & ambulances screaming through at random times. This experience is all packed into several blocks along Broadway. If you want to have your mug in many photos or videos from travelers from around the world, the sidewalks of Broadway near Times Square would be a great place to station yourself. This … [Read more...]

Wieliczka Salt Mine, Poland

September 28, 2011 by Dave12 Comments

While flying somewhere in Europe last month on a short Wizz Air flight we happened to spot an article about the salt mines near Krakow in the in-flight magazine. Hey, an in-flight magazine on a budget airline and more leg room than say Ryan Air - we were happy. In any case, the article caught my eye - a salt mine that continuously operated for 700 years and over time contained huge man-made caves, tunnels and sculptures carved entirely from rock … [Read more...]

The European Nightlife

September 27, 2011 by Miss Moci1 Comment

A big appeal of a big city for visitors and residents equally is the variety in its cultural offer but also in its nightlife. What is to follow is a list of several cities in Europe that I have been to and that are known to have a … [Read more...]
