Devil's Post Pile is a unique geological formation well worth taking the time to visit. Access from the 395 is via Highway 203 which runs through Mammoth Lakes and past Mammoth Ski Resort - eventually turning into Postpile Road and then Minaret Summit Road which leads to the Devil's Postpile Trailhead. Within about a 20-30 minute drive of Mammoth Lakes are a number of hot springs overlooking some of California's most scenic vistas. Hayden Cabin Museum This is located in a bucolic spot along the edge of Mammoth Creek. The log cabin date from the 1920's and houses the Mammoth Museum. It was originally built as a hunting and fishing lodge - built by hand using local materials over a span of 10 years.
