Roads of the future look nothing like what we're used to. Forget regular asphalt and standard markings. Taipei in a Flash: A Whirlwind Adventure Worth Remembering

December 1, 2025 by Dave5 Comments

A quick journey to Taipei was not meant to be. Rather than get up with the chickens at 430am in the Thai village I am staying in to catch a van to Suvarnabhumi Airport to catch an 11am flight, I opted to take a a van into Bangkok a day early at a reasonable 3pm departure. I didn't catch much sleep that night due to three women next door partying like it was December 31, 1999. The day of my flight, I left my hotel at 8am for the airport. The … [Read more...]

St Moritz, Courchevel, Chamonix, Jackson Hole… there’s a whole multitude of places to head to if you’re looking for a winter break spent on the slopes. This winter paradise is a real gem—think: world-class skiing, wilderness adventures, and slow-evening indulgence. Whether you're heading there for the … [Read more...]

Exploring Lake Rio Cuarto: The Deepest Lake in Costa Rica

November 5, 2025 by A Couple for the RoadLeave a Comment

Lake Rio Cuarto is the deepest lake in Costa Rica and truly a hidden gem. I haven't seen pictures or heard of this place prior to me visiting. Most tourists never end up here, unless they stay at the exact same eco lodge I stayed at, Hotel Del Bosque. They arrange all the tours on this lake and carry people to and from the hotel and the lake. We already rented a car for the duration of our trip and we just drove there ourselves. If you'd like to … [Read more...]

Two Days in Vegas: Where Every Hour Counts

October 31, 2025 by DaveLeave a Comment

Las Vegas is one of those cities that has always appealed to me in an intriguing sort of way. It’s not a 'conventional' city by any definition; its wink is seductive, filled with opportunity, excitement and flash - where money is always on full display. The city can be overwhelming, especially for first time visitors. My first trip was in college. Stepping out of the plane into one of the terminals at Harry Reid International Airport, I remember … [Read more...]
