LAX is Happening!

November 10, 2015 by Dave6 Comments

I frequently use LAX for connecting to domestic flights and it is often my International hub. I even have LAX written on my license plate! Over the past few years I've been watching the airport change ... in a good way. The architectural 'waves' of Tom Bradley International Terminal are now as nearly iconic as the Theme Building (which housed the former Encounter Restaurant). LAX is growing - it is now the 5th busiest airport by volume in the … [Read more...]

An Introduction to StoryBy

November 9, 2015 by Dave2 Comments

Recently StoryBy contacted me about adding some of my articles to their community platform. The site is fairly new but the power of community submitted content is already clearly evident - they already have hundreds of posts ranging from topics as diverse as travel, seasonal holidays, adventure, style, food and much more. I've submitted several stories already - the process is simple and straight forward. Create an account - verify it via … [Read more...]

Great Spots for Island Hopping

November 4, 2015 by Megan TLeave a Comment

One of the best parts about travelling is that you can explore multiple locations that you’ve loved on past visits or are eager to discover. While all-inclusive destination holidays can be relaxing and fun, they don’t give you the opportunity to move from one great spot to the next the way you can with a cruise. Whether you’re a history geek looking to visit historical sites, or a culture fan wanting to soak up the local music and food scene, … [Read more...]

A Guide To Africa’s Great Migration

November 4, 2015 by Rob FLeave a Comment

The Great Migration of Africa is one of the most fascinating events of the wild that a wildlife lover can witness. It is the great annual journey of 1.5 million wildebeest along with nearly 200,000 Zebras and some other animals like antelopes from the plains of the Serengeti in Tanzania to the grasslands of Maasai Mara in Kenya. This great journey begins as the lands of south Serengeti become dry and the animals head north in search of food … [Read more...]

The Heart of the South Bay – Torrance

November 4, 2015 by Katie Weber3 Comments

I’d be willing to bet that if I asked you if you’ve ever been to Torrance, CA, your response would be something along the lines of “uh, where now?” Surrounded by Hermosa, Redondo, and Palos Verdes, well-known beach cities along California’s Santa Monica Bay, Torrance is often overlooked. However, for those who are looking for an authentic community experience in a location that is still close to all the Southern CA tourist hotspots, and will make … [Read more...]

5 Of the Best Beaches around the World

November 2, 2015 by Rob FLeave a Comment

Some people love the sight of sky touching mountains, some love bathing in the soft essence of the twilight and there are also some who loves to see the sea getting lost in the horizon from the sandy shores. Beaches around the world have attracted travelers for as long as our history. The sky and the ocean floor blends in together to fill our hearts with a soothing sensation that’s easy to fall in love with. All our worldly troubles seems to … [Read more...]

Off Beat Destinations for an Adventurous Holiday

November 1, 2015 by Rob FLeave a Comment

The lists of the best travel destinations are always biased towards a few places like France, England and Switzerland, and in some cases India and Turkey. While these places are of course spectacularly awesome, there are some other places in the world that are less heard of but offer quite a captivating experience for adventure lovers. Sometimes we want our travel experience to be more unique and special. Sometimes we do not want the hassle of … [Read more...]

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

October 30, 2015 by Dave5 Comments

There is a private island where the wind blows in the beach pines and the gentle surf laps on the silky white sand. A place that is much loved for moments that can be counted as too short and then left to it's natural state just as quickly. This place is Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, a private island. Holland America Line has a 99 year lease from the Bahama government to manage the island and their ships exclusively anchor off shore and … [Read more...]

A Family Friendly Day in Tijuana

October 29, 2015 by Penny Williams1 Comment

Do you know the zonkey? Along the Avenida Revolucion (the most famous street in Tijuana) you are likely to find the Zonkey.  Some attached to carts, some on a corner with their owner next to a feed box of hay.  All offer a variety of sombreros to wear and one of the best photo opportunities in Tijuana. and are there.  A Zonkey is a donkey that has been painted with stripes and looks more like a zebra. The donkey painting started many years … [Read more...]
