Grenadines (SVG) Launches New
Mobile App
Discover
the 32 islands of SVG on The Fly

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, April 26, 2011–
A new mobile app for St. Vincent and The Grenadines (SVG) is now
available on iPhone via the
iTunes App Store
(iPad version coming soon) and as a WebApp for Android Phones and
Blackberry via the web at www.DiscoverSVG.com.
The free app makes it easy to get a snapshot of this breathtaking
destination and what it offers the traveler who is looking for a
different Caribbean experience, away from the crowds, a place where you
can truly unwind.
“In recently introducing a new branding
for SVG, we felt it was the ideal time to develop a mobile app that
shows the different dimensions of our country,” said Glen Beache, CEO of
the St. Vincent and The Grenadines Tourism Authority.
The
app has in-depth information on the 32 islands of this fascinating
country including stay, play and dine. It includes a range of
photography and video, maps, as well as information on where to stay and
the different experiences that these islands offer including sailing,
diving, soft adventure as well as it being a very special place to get
married or honeymoon. Travelers can take advantage of everything SVG has
to offer, from getting married on a private island to simply relaxing on
a picture-perfect beach. In addition, social
media sharing is also being integrated into the app, allowing users to
link to their
Facebook
and
Twitter
profiles from within the app.
“The mobile app is a work in progress
and we are planning a variety of upcoming features”, Mr. Beache
continued. “They include downloadable updates, tips on how to plan an
island hopping adventure, and more video and photography opportunities
to win trips to experience our country.”
SVG is in the process of building
several major new developments including Argyle International Airport,
which will open in 18 months and will offer direct international jet
service from the U.S., Canada and Europe. Additionally, there are
several new major developments in process including new luxury resorts
and boutique properties. The number of U.S travelers is increasing as
they discover what the country has to offer.

About St.
Vincent and The Grenadines
A
collection of 32 unspoiled islands and cays in the secluded Southern
Caribbean, St. Vincent and the Grenadines boasts the best of what
the authentic Caribbean is renowned for. The Grenadines stretch for 45
miles south from the main island of St. Vincent and include eight
inhabited islands: Young Island, Bequia, Union, Mayreau, Mustique,
Canouan, Palm Island and Petit St. Vincent. Tobago Cays is a
horseshoe-shaped reef that shields five deserted islets and is renowned
as a sailing and snorkeling mecca. For more information on St. Vincent
