Olive Pit, Corning CA – October 2002

October 1, 2002 by DaveLeave a Comment

The Olive Pit located in Corning, CA is famous for their varied selection of olives and their "olive burgers". Look for their billboards spread out along the 5 freeway. Once you reach Corning, you will see their tall sign just off of the freeway as the restaurant is located merely a few blocks east of the 5 freeway. They have an excellent free sampling of many different types of olives in their store. Some of our favorites include the Zesty … [Read more...]

Fisher Fruit Farm, Ripon CA – September 2002

September 1, 2002 by Dave2 Comments

Fisher Fruit Farm Ripon - There seems to be very very few fruit farms in California's great Central Valley that pick their fruit ripe. The C&R Fisher Fruit Farm located in Ripon, CA - (outside of Modesto) is one of the few farms that sells right from their own orchards. This small permanent fruit stand is located on the north side of the often super busy Highway 120 (the road that leads up to Yosemite Park). } Parking is on the dirt - either … [Read more...]

Kotobuki Sushi Laguna Hills - Next time you are in Southern Orange County, CA be sure to stop in for some excellent Sushi at Kotobuki located at 24351 Avenida De La Carlota in Laguna Hills. Pozo Saloon, Pozo CA – May 2002

May 1, 2002 by DaveLeave a Comment

Pozo Saloon is located about 40-45 minutes by car from downtown San Luis Obispo. This saloon is located in the thriving metropolis of Pozo - at last count population 52. The town's population wasn't always this low - gold was discovered in the late 1870's in La Panza (east of Pozo) and the population of the town had swelled to over 850 by 1882. The saloon is a historic landmark dating from 1858; the building is a fine example of old 'western' … [Read more...]
