Furthermore, not everyone has the right equipment and ingredients at home or maybe you prefer to leave the proper way of preparing fondue up to professionals, so going to a restaurant seems like the best choice. As the Frenchies are experts in good cheese, fondue and wine it is nice to know where to go to have great fondue when staying in Paris apartments:
1. Le Chalet Savoyard (58 Rue de Charonne)
Opened about 1,5 years ago this is literally cheese heaven. If you go there make sure the whole group is ready to dig in. The raclette cheese will be served in a very big loaf and there are all-you-can-eat bowls of potatoes and bread. The atmosphere is very rustic, perfect for this kind of food.
2. Heureux Comme Alexandre (24,Rue de la Parcheminerie)
There are actually several locations of this restaurant, 3 of them in Paris. The guests love this restaurant for its atmosphere, the prices and the great food. Although the restaurant in St Michel is in a rather touristy area, many locals go here to enjoy fondue. On the ceiling there are paintings of characters of Saint-Exupery’s The Little Price.
3. Le Refuge de Fondues (17 Rue des Trois-Freres)
This might be one of the most known and popular fondue restaurants. For one it is located in the heart of Montmatre and the dining experience will be unforgettable. You will sit at long communal tables which takes the idea of social dining to a new level as you get to meet new people over dinner. What helps to break the ice is that the wine is served in baby bottles.
