Submit Pieces to StoryBy and Earn Income

November 17, 2015 by DaveLeave a Comment

I've recently discovered StoryBy, an online community of contributors with a diverse range of content. They maintain a program for writers in which you can earn income based on your submitted stories (based on a points system and popularity of content). I had to see how the submission system works (having used similar services in the past which were quite clunky and difficult to use) so I created an account. Submitting a piece is simple … [Read more...]

Turkish Bath Experience

November 17, 2015 by Natalie Tanner3 Comments

Hammam VisitA trip to the Turkish Bath Vacation adventures are the perfect time to slow down and relax. During our visit to Turkey, the hammam seemed like the perfect spot to do just that! Hammams have been a part of the local culture for hundreds of years. In the days before telephones, social media, and every home having indoor plumbing, this experience was perhaps more social that hygienic. Hammams are everywhere. The one we visited … [Read more...]

A Little Taste of Bogota, Colombia

November 15, 2015 by Cameryn FrostLeave a Comment

When Lisa Niver, Creator of We Said Go Travel, headed down to Bogota, Colombia, she may have been expecting some quality coffee and unique food, but she had no idea what deliciousness was in store for her! Paloquemao Market- The Paloquemao Market is more colorful than any grocery store could be. Rows and rows of colorful, fresh fruits and vegetables line painted walls, on top of brightly colored stands. You can find corn and limes that you … [Read more...]

Time to exhale in the South of France

November 13, 2015 by Cecile Riphagen4 Comments

Provence triggers images of lavender, sun flowers and olive trees. Many have read the enjoyable novels written by Peter Mayle, visited anything Van Gogh in Arles and mused over the paintings of Cézanne. Everybody knows all areas of the Provence, or so they believe. There is a part of Provence less famous and therefore much less crowded than the Lubéron and the Midi. It is not a fancy area with famous wines or Michelin star restaurants but … [Read more...]

How an Omelette Taught me About Life

November 10, 2015 by Kevin Nelson2 Comments

This is a personal travel story about how a simple omelette showed me a fundamental truth of life. It all began quite accidentally when, after a tasting up valley, we decided go back down to the central square of Sonoma for lunch. Sonoma is a place of Spanish and Mexican history (a 19th century Catholic mission is there), and a place of early California history too (it was the center of a rebellion by American settlers against Mexican rule … [Read more...]

LAX is Happening!

November 10, 2015 by Dave6 Comments

I frequently use LAX for connecting to domestic flights and it is often my International hub. I even have LAX written on my license plate! Over the past few years I've been watching the airport change ... in a good way. The architectural 'waves' of Tom Bradley International Terminal are now as nearly iconic as the Theme Building (which housed the former Encounter Restaurant). LAX is growing - it is now the 5th busiest airport by volume in the … [Read more...]

An Introduction to StoryBy

November 9, 2015 by Dave2 Comments

Recently StoryBy contacted me about adding some of my articles to their community platform. The site is fairly new but the power of community submitted content is already clearly evident - they already have hundreds of posts ranging from topics as diverse as travel, seasonal holidays, adventure, style, food and much more. I've submitted several stories already - the process is simple and straight forward. Create an account - verify it via … [Read more...]

Rocky Mountain Blues

November 7, 2015 by Lynn BoutetteLeave a Comment

“Southern Alberta is a "black hole" when it comes to accessible tourism, it’s what I’d like to see change,” says Garry Brown, owner of the newly formed Rocky Mountain Wheelchair Tours, a division of 4seasons Transportation. “Accessibility laws are provincial. (So) there (is no enforcement) in our national parks. It’s all voluntary.” Alberta Parks is aiming for inclusion, but currently their website lists only disabled access campsites. … [Read more...]

Great Spots for Island Hopping

November 4, 2015 by Megan TLeave a Comment

One of the best parts about travelling is that you can explore multiple locations that you’ve loved on past visits or are eager to discover. While all-inclusive destination holidays can be relaxing and fun, they don’t give you the opportunity to move from one great spot to the next the way you can with a cruise. Whether you’re a history geek looking to visit historical sites, or a culture fan wanting to soak up the local music and food scene, … [Read more...]

A Guide To Africa’s Great Migration

November 4, 2015 by Rob FLeave a Comment

The Great Migration of Africa is one of the most fascinating events of the wild that a wildlife lover can witness. It is the great annual journey of 1.5 million wildebeest along with nearly 200,000 Zebras and some other animals like antelopes from the plains of the Serengeti in Tanzania to the grasslands of Maasai Mara in Kenya. This great journey begins as the lands of south Serengeti become dry and the animals head north in search of food … [Read more...]
