The Venue The 6th annual VinCE Wine Show was recently held at the luxurious and inviting Corinthia Hotel in Budapest in early March 2015. This event is organized by the VinCE Central European Wine Magazine and showcases Hungarian Wines as well as plenty of winery attendees from elsewhere in Central Europe. Takua What? Takua Pa, #Thailand

March 27, 2015 by Dave2 Comments

Less than 10 minutes from where we are staying is the self titled "Amazon of Thailand" a waterway that winds through a rats nest maze of tangled roots dangling from giant trees. We hired a long tail boat driver who loudly drove us into this "wilderness". He was quicker than us to spot large snakes sleeping on branches overhanging the waterway. He explained they sleep on these overhanging branches to quickly feel any movement of predators crawling … [Read more...]

Star Searching, Celebrity House Spotting with Starline Tours, Hollywood

March 25, 2015 by DaveLeave a Comment

What better time to take a Starline guided tour of Hollywood and hunt for celebrity homes and celebrities than during the Academy Award weekend. Hollywood's epic event attracts a number of celebrities to town, parties and those looking to see celebrities. Sure Hollywood is more chaotic then usual - with part of Hollywood Blvd shut down in the vicinity of Dolby Theatre and the buzz about the event by most everyone who happens to be in the … [Read more...]

Confessions of the First Travel Blogger

March 22, 2015 by Richard Bangs3 Comments

One of these claims to be “The Most Interesting Blogger in the World” I was surprised when I picked up a copy USAToday and saw an item that cited me as “The first travel blogger.” I doubt it, though I was early to the game, not long after Al Gore invented the Internet. In 1993 the term “blogger” didn’t exist, so what I was posting was a real-time serialized account of my travels. If that qualifies, then perhaps the first travel blogger was … [Read more...]

Island Hopping, Andaman Sea – Thailand

March 20, 2015 by Dave6 Comments

This week we have been exploring the warm clear waters of Southern Thailand. Our first stop was Ko Tah Chai - dubbed the "Maldives of Thailand" for its azure surrounding waters and the satin-like white sand beaches - which are so silky underfoot. Activities include: A Nature Hike - where you can spot a green pointy snail that lives and eats in certain trees and the pretty "chicken crab" which tends to hide during the heat of the day. The … [Read more...]

Kion Kashefi has taken his bicycle through every part of Central America imaginable, and every bike tour he has undertaken following a disastrous first experience with two friends has been done on a solo basis. According to Kashefi, solo travel is almost always a more enlightening and enjoyable experience provided proper preparations are made and that travelers exercise caution when appropriate. For Kion Kashefi, solo bicycle touring allowed … [Read more...]

Plan Your Own Great Wall Adventure

March 19, 2015 by Jenia Ustinova1 Comment

A day trip to the Great Wall easily qualifies as a major highlight of our month long travels across China. In fact, I would even go as far as saying that if I had to pick just one “must” from a long list of great things to do/see in China, touring the Great Wall would be it -- although to visit only one location in China would be very distressing, as the rest of the country is fascinating. Why does the Great Wall qualify as my top … [Read more...]
