January 26, 2016 (Los Angeles, CA) – Ora TV, the entertainment digital network & production company founded by broadcasting legend Larry King & Mexican business mogul Carlos Slim, is excited to announce the premiere of its first-ever travel program #ModernTraveler, launching TODAY January 26th on www.Ora.TV/ModernTraveler. All 15 binge-worthy five minute episodes will be available on-demand, at anytime, on any device, with special behind the scene exclusive clips in thanks to partnerships with National Tourism Boards VisitBritain, Switzerland Tourism and Tourism New Brunswick.

Aiming to appeal to the ‘selfie generation’ and capitalize on the explosive growth of online video in the US, #ModernTraveler will demystify the challenges of travel and show curious globetrotters how they can get the most out of a destination, hitting all the hotspots, but also having deeper experiences with the locals who know it best in bite size videos, allowing consumers to digest quickly while on the go!

#ModernTraveler’s host Alyssa Caverley spent time exploring the hidden gems, cultural icons and of course, snapping must-have selfies, across Scotland, England, Switzerland & Canada. Alyssa sipped her way through the Scotch Malt Whisky Trail and sheared sheep in Scotland. While in England, Alyssa went to surf school, drove a Ferrari with David Beckham and hunted for ghosts at a haunted hotel. She also explored an ice castle at the top of the Swiss Alps and made her own Swiss Army knife in Switzerland. Finally, she learned how to properly eat a lobster and wrestled with eels off the east coast of Canada in New Brunswick.

“After traveling to over 32 countries, I realized the places I remember the most were the ones where I connected with the local people,” says host Alyssa Caverley. “I want to share those experiences with others, showing my generation that travel is so much more than simply taking a vacation or sharing pictures.”

Alyssa Caverley is a travel journalist who reports from all over the globe. As a travel correspondent and producer, she has been to every continent (except Antarctica), producing and reporting on travel from an investigative perspective—from safety issues in Egypt after the Arab Spring to volunteer opportunities in the remote jungles of Malaysia.

Ora TV decided to tap into Alyssa’s unique experience to launch the first-ever international program dedicated to lifestyle travel on the digital network.

“Modern Traveler is fantastic — unlike any travel show out there,” according to Larry King, Iconic broadcaster & co-founder of Ora TV. “Alyssa Caverley is a great guide who shows us the connection between travel and modern technology. I’m telling you, this show is a must see!”

Thanks for the info, Dave. It’s already January 27th here in Rome – so we missed the premier – if it was aired in Europe. Anyway, I forwarded your newsletter to our family and friends in the States – so they can tune in next time.
    Ciao, M & G
