Strange Jaunt In Kidapawan: The City Of Highland Springs

November 9, 2010 by Junfil OlarteLeave a Comment

Steering through the upland regions of Bukidnon to the highly elevated vicinity of North Cotabato can be the most tedious journey I've ever done in Southern Philippines. The vast land area, long and winding trail had taken us 7 hours to reach the intended destination. Such a wearisome travel was later exchanged with excitement, as we arrived in the city being warmly treated by intimates who, too, were part of the important visit. Situated off … [Read more...]

The Malvern Experience, be inspired

November 7, 2010 by Carolan NathanLeave a Comment

Journeys of a Lifetime The strong winds that blow from the highest point of the Malvern Hills orchestrate their own music and as I stood on the Worcestershire Beacon, the words of Sir Edward Elgar who was born within sight and sound of these ancient limestone hills came to mind, "there is music in the air, music all around us and you simply take as much as you require." Then there are the magnificent views; to the east, the smooth curve of … [Read more...]

Hanging out in Cairo

October 23, 2010 by Dave5 Comments

At the moment I'm sitting in sleeper train on our long transiberian journey - not much to do here so we are chugging the vodka. Actually this is the overnighter from Cairo to Luxor. This is doing it in real style - a private suite for 2 people, AC controls per suite and the calming rocking motion that you can only get on a train will quickly put us to sleep - oh and the 32 hours it took to get here from Cali will certainly help. With not much … [Read more...]

Back to Europe

October 21, 2010 by Dave1 Comment

Arrived in 4C temps and rain at the Frankfurt airport. Its not even mid Autumn and temps are already frightfully chilly. I was here last month and landed to sunshine and warm temps. Not so now. The FRA airport is like a big city - we drove around in a bus after getting off the plane for a long while. We accidentally booked the flight to Cairo from Munich so this gave us a chance to see more of the German countryside. 3 hours on high speed … [Read more...]
