Fly to Brazil with Tam Airlines

July 22, 2015 by DaveLeave a Comment

A representative for Tam Airlines recently contacted me to promote their trips from the USA to Brazil. They offer a number of trips from the USA to Brazil - flying to numerous destinations within the country including Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Brasilia. Doing a cursory check on prices I found a round trip from New York to Rio de Janeiro for under $700. And from Miami for closer to $600. That isn't so bad considering some of the round trip … [Read more...]

Rio for Partiers by Cristiano Nogueira

June 2, 2015 by DaveLeave a Comment

This slightly larger than a pocket book size full color guide is ground zero for visitors to Rio seeking fun, food and plenty of party experiences including information about trendy pubs, the nightclub scene and street parties. Cool photogrpahy is a big part of the book - while the book size is not large, it is approximately 200 pages and packs quite a bit of information. Capirinhas, crowds and cool parties - reference 'Rio for Partiers' for all … [Read more...]

The Three Places You Should Visit in Uruguay – as Soon as Possible and Slightly Off Season

May 7, 2015 by Claudia Tavani3 Comments

Uruguay attractions

I arrived in Uruguay at the very end of a four months backpacking trip. I was exhausted, and all I wanted to do was rest, lay in the sun, enjoy the sea breeze, eat nice food and write. My expectations were met and exceeded, and by the time I boarded the first of a number of flights that would take me back to Sardinia, I knew I was in love with the country and would have to go back in the future.   Locked between Argentina and … [Read more...]

World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan – A Festival for Wanderers, An Olympics for Nomads

November 2, 2014 by Stephen LioyLeave a Comment

There’s nothing like scrambling to stay out from underhoof as two horseback wrestlers charge into a crowd of journalists to really set a festive tone. With the Winter Olympics having wrapped up in Sochi and the FIFA World Cup in Brazil only a few months gone, one might have assumed that all the best sports-themed travel opportunities were done for 2014. In a quiet corner of Central Asia, however, for the first time ever delegations from across … [Read more...]

5 Reasons why Santiago is the Most Underrated South American City For Tourism

October 24, 2014 by Nick Kwan1 Comment

When people think of Chile, what comes to mind are usually the breathtaking views of Atacama, treacherous hikes through Patagonia, and the stunning beaches along the coast. I'm not saying these three extremes are anything short of amazing, or else I'd be lying.  However, Santiago, a metropolitan city of more than 6 million people that sits in the center of these marvels, is an amazing city itself and here are five reasons why. My name is Nick, … [Read more...]

Into Africa: Can BushCats Save the Beasts?

August 12, 2014 by Richard BangsLeave a Comment

“There is an elephant holocaust going on in Africa today,” says Paul Maritz, the last gentleman adventurer. “Up to this point elephant counts have been done by error-prone Mark 1 Eyeballs, and nobody believes the numbers. You really can’t motivate people to take needed drastic actions unless they are convinced you have the facts. And so we need to get the facts.” Rhodesia born Paul and his brother David have created a flying machine they … [Read more...]

Eating Your Way Through South America

April 24, 2014 by Kate MayerLeave a Comment

As with most international adventures, a trip through South America should include copious amounts of eating. This continent is certain not to disappoint no matter what your tastes (but it would hopefully include a fondness for red meat and wine). Buenos Aires, Argentina is one of the most metropolitan and beautiful cities in the world. Not only is it full of incredible museums, parks, street art, and cafes but the food is fantastic. The … [Read more...]

Ramona Bruland, Adventure, Lifestyle & Adventure TV Host

April 5, 2014 by DaveLeave a Comment

While browsing Twitter I stumbled across Ramona's outdoor and adventure accomplishments. Discovering that she is originally from Adelaide and with a recent trip to South Australia including Adelaide, Kangaroo Island and Barossa Valley still fresh in the mind - this became a timely interview. Adrenaline and outdoor junkies take note - Ramona is just as comfortable carving tracks down the side of a mountain as she is jumping out of a plane or … [Read more...]
