Christopher Birt, Actor and Traveler

June 28, 2022 by Teh Chin Liang2 Comments

Q. I love your “Everyday People” column, it literally reminds me of the lyrics from the Sly & The Family Stone's classic “Everyday People” – “I am no better and neither are you, we’re all the same, whatever we do, You love me, you hate me. You know me and then. You can't figure out the bag I'm in”. What inspired you to start that interview project and what have you learned through these interviews with random people? Firstly, thanks so … [Read more...]

Five Gorgeous European Destinations to Visit

November 29, 2020 by Faisal ButtLeave a Comment

Tourists are searching for places away from the crowded cities. We are longing for nature, large open spaces, and, more importantly, freedom. Itineraries have changed for international travelers, and cities hardly end up on travel lists. Globe trotters are preferring places with pinewood forests and large tracts of farmland over the glitz and glamour of city life. Europe has a lot more to offer than malls or Victorian architecture. A Different Burgundy

August 30, 2020 by Cecile RiphagenLeave a Comment

After months of working remotely, tending the garden and repairing fences, early May allowed us to travel further than the restricted one kilometre from our house in Burgundy, France. Although the authorities still imposed restrictions to travel, we took an old fashioned map and drew a circle of 100 kilometres, the distance allowed, to find out where we could go exploring. Burgundy is famous for its wine, rolling fields and beautiful villages … [Read more...]

Sea of Galilee and Redemption

June 23, 2019 by Maxim Basilad1 Comment

The sea, the sea! That was my miraculous view for at least four Galilean days staying in a hotel on the outskirts of the ancient city of Tiberias, Israel. That was the Sea of Galilee or Lake Tiberias or Buhayrat Tabriya in Arabic or Yam Kinneret in Hebrew. This is the sea of abounding stories; biblical, archaeological, economic, political and of personal testimonies. One Night I was awakened by a dream. I was swimming in the sea’s deep … [Read more...]
