May 25, 2026 by Teh Chin Liang2 Comments

Sébastien Thépénier is a French oenologist and the winemaker behind Vin de Tahiti in Rangiroa, an atoll in French Polynesia. Originally from Burgundy of France, he moved to Tahiti in 2002 to oversee Domaine Dominique Auroy, a pioneering vineyard and wine estate on coral soil in the Pacific. He has since played a central role in developing and refining its unique tropical winemaking. Q. You are originally an oenologist from France. What drew … [Read more...]

Tuscany Above the Clouds: A Guide to the Glacial Lakes and Ridges of the Northern Apennines

May 25, 2026 by Stefano GabryelLeave a Comment

The wind hit the ridge hard enough that I leaned forward to keep my balance. Ahead of me, a narrow path followed the crest of the mountain like a thread pulled tight between two regions of Italy. On one side lay Tuscany. On the other, Emilia-Romagna. As the clouds shifted, a deep blue circle suddenly appeared below the ridge: Lago Scaffaiolo. At that moment it was hard to believe I was still in Tuscany. Most travelers imagine Tuscany as … [Read more...]

California by Car: The Only Way to Do It Right

May 13, 2026 by Sara JohnsonLeave a Comment

I’ve spent an infinite amount of time navigating public transit across Europe and Asia, but when it comes to the Golden State, let me save you some hours: you need a car. No bus is going to stop, so you can watch the fog roll over Big Sur. No group tour will let you detour to a weird desert art installation or a roadside diner at 2 AM. To really understand California, you have to drive it with your own schedule. The Ultimate California … [Read more...]

Cities shift quickly, languages change, and each region follows its own rhythm. For travelers who prefer a bit of structure, that variety becomes much easier to navigate with a clear plan. This guide focuses on a selection of destinations where thoughtful planning goes a long way. These are places where routes are easy to … [Read more...]

5 Sunny European Destinations for Relaxing and Luxurious Exploration

May 1, 2026 by Penny ThompsonLeave a Comment

Warm weather changes how a destination feels. Days start earlier, afternoons stretch without urgency, and evenings linger long enough to enjoy being outdoors without watching the clock. Across Europe, there are destinations where climate naturally pairs with comfortable stays and well-kept surroundings. Think coastal towns where the sea is always within reach, islands where villas sit just beyond the busiest spots, and inland regions where travel … [Read more...]

The Pros and Cons of Cruise Travel vs Overland Travel in Europe

April 27, 2026 by Maia ArnoldLeave a Comment

Deciding how to tackle a trip across Europe is one of those lovely dilemmas that only gets more complicated the longer you think about it. The way you choose to move between cities usually ends up defining the whole vibe of your holiday. While some people live for the spontaneity of a road trip, others just want the logistics handled by someone else. It is worth noting that options like cruises from Tilbury cruises from Tilbury mean you can … [Read more...]

April 10, 2026 by Hasret RoamLeave a Comment

How to set up Roambit eSIM in 3 steps: pick a data plan, install via QR code, stay connected

I've tested a lot of eSIM providers over the years. From airport SIM card kiosks in Bangkok to fumbling with a physical SIM card swap on a train through Switzerland, staying connected abroad has always been one of those travel headaches I just accepted. Then I discovered eSIM technology and more recently, Roambit, and my approach to mobile data while traveling changed completely. What Is an eSIM and Why Does It Matter for Travelers? Hungary in a Hurry: A Quick Adventure through Enchantment

April 1, 2026 by Dave5 Comments

Soon after landing in Budapest, a friend and I were promptly held in one of several contiguous rooms. People from other flights kept arriving, ultimately packing us in like sardines. One of the more curious souls decided to go talk to the well-armed security guards. Apparently we were under a lockdown due to a bomb threat and we were being held until security until bomb sniffing dogs had made a careful assessment of the situation. After about … [Read more...]
