The Different Cancún Another Side of Paradise

September 22, 2013 by Richard Bangs2 Comments

The pearls of praise for the place called Cancún often sheen to dizzying effect. There is no refuting that this stretch of soft sand caressing the warm, clear waters of the Caribbean is the acreage of paradise, a dazzling tropical necklace that evokes powerful, even passionate imagery. The acclaim is true….the beaches, the resorts, the sun, the sports, the shopping, the clubs and bars are laced in lavish profusion, and all so close to a host of … [Read more...]

World’s Best Beaches

August 14, 2013 by Greg BeckLeave a Comment

Beaches provide a beautiful escape from the daily grind of life. Laying back on a relaxing beach towel and soaking up the sun is a luxury that everyone should have the pleasure of experiencing. However, as there are thousands upon thousands of beaches to explore on this beautiful planet of ours, it may be difficult to distinguish which sandy destination is truly paradise and which is merely a mirage. Rest easy friends because we have put together … [Read more...]

Yung Chang: Writer & Director

July 16, 2013 by DaveLeave a Comment

I have enjoyed fruit for as long as I can remember. My early childhood memories involve visiting Asian markets with my father - scouring the shelves for mostly canned fruit in the absence of the real thing. Over time this changed - demand increased within these communities and USA agricultural laws changed to allow the import of a wider variety of fruits. In the last 4-5 years where I live - depending on the time of year, you can now find fairly … [Read more...]

Tedeschi Winery, Verona Italy

May 13, 2013 by Dave4 Comments

I've known Emil Tedeschi for a number of years, owner of Napa Valley's tiny Tedeschi Family Winery, not to be confused with the Tedeschi Winery, Maui - which Emil also co-founded. He has mentioned the Tedeschi Winery in Verona Italy more than a few times. So with my brother living in Verona and describing my upcoming trip to visit him, Emil jumped at the opportunity to come along. Emil has co-piloted a single engine plane - 16 hours from San … [Read more...]

Hawaiian Healing, Our Favorite Places

March 19, 2013 by Darcy Gonzalez2 Comments

My husband and I love to travel, and Hawaii is one of our favorite destinations. We have been to Maui, Lanai and Oahu; Oahu is by far our favorite island. Oahu has a vast variety of things to do, such as hiking Diamond Head, shopping and enjoying nightlife in Waikiki with restaurants serving food of all cultures, visiting the Polynesian Cultural center, going to Luaus, and watching the surfers on the north shore. The local people are … [Read more...]

Gogobot Travel Salon Recap – Los Angeles

December 23, 2012 by DaveLeave a Comment

I was invited to a Gogobot (a social community for travelers) sponsored event by Kat @travellingreek - who I met at a TBEX event in downtown at the Biltmore a few years back. This event was held at NextSpace in downtown Culver City - this is a creative work environment/community that is open to members at any time. This "travel salon" featured four well regarded travelers - Andrew Bender, who writes the Seat 1A blog for Forbes Magazine, Sara … [Read more...]

Hawaii Volcanoes’ National Park – August 2012

August 1, 2012 by DaveLeave a Comment

Hawaii Volcanoes' is Hawaii's only National Park and is appropriately located outside of a small town called Volcano on the "big island". There are a number of attractions to see here and some of the attractions change (the lava flows for example). The Crater Rim drive is only partially open due to every changing lava flows. Be sure to stop at the main visitor center, just past the main park entrance. Rangers can give you updates on where the … [Read more...]

Why French Polynesia Should Be on Your Bucket List

May 4, 2012 by Chloe CippoloneLeave a Comment

Establishing a bucket list is the ultimate way to kick-start your life goals. As Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman demonstrated in their movie The Bucket List, some are a little more extravagant with their lists than others. Some wish to own a Corvette, others prefer to see the sunrise, and there are those who want to travel the world. If those last two items are part of your bucket list, then a trip to French Polynesia will kill two birds … [Read more...]

Laulima Farms, Maui – May 2012

May 1, 2012 by DaveLeave a Comment

Laulima Farms is an organic farm located in the small rural outpost of Kipahulu about 10 miles south of Hana right on the main highway (about 1 mile past the Oheo Gulch National Park entrance). This is a fantastic find - everything is either freshly picked or freshly made. Their smoothies are a popular choice especially considering you can make them yourself just by pedaling a bicycle! The property has 13.5 planted acres and a plethora of … [Read more...]
