How to Tell if House Sitting is Right for You

February 9, 2019 by Vanessa PalmerLeave a Comment

In the past six months, I lived in a land-locked nation where Mercedes and BMWs rank in the top five most popular cars, enjoyed endless sunny days on golden sandy beaches along the sparkling Atlantic Ocean, and for a week called a tiny New York apartment home. Digital nomads, retirees with free time, and travelers hoping to live like a local have embraced the house sitting lifestyle. Despite this trend, it remains a generally untapped … [Read more...]

So you’ve got that travel itch, and you want to get out and see places, do things, and experience all sorts of new people and places. What place encompasses that more than the United States of America? It’s huge, with 50 states to pick from and anything from snowy mountains to desert canyons, but the only issue is sometimes it’s a hassle getting to take a holiday to the US with all the paperwork. But what if there was a way to get there which … [Read more...]

You’ve been there before. You planned a domestic trip and despite your attention to detail, something goes wrong. You lose your luggage at the airport, your hotel room was never reserved, you forget to pack your cell phone charger, or some other crazy thing goes wrong causing you to have to make a few adjustments. You may be a tad bit frustrated, but your trip isn’t completely ruined. When you add a few thousand miles and an entirely different … [Read more...]

How to Prepare and Pack Like a Pro for a Trip

July 6, 2018 by DaveLeave a Comment

After 20+ years of traveling, a question I am asked every now and then is, "I will be traveling to (fill in the destination here) - how should I pack?" And the answer that I always reply with is, "pack light"! I'm less concerned with how long you are going for and where you are going - as I have lightweight options that will work for general travel to most destinations on the planet regardless of whether your trip is a week or 2 months. One … [Read more...]

Top Five Most Useful Trip Preparations

April 19, 2018 by DaveLeave a Comment

While travels never go exactly according to plan (and perhaps that is part of why I travel), there are several important steps one can make prior to a trip to help ensure your trip is a smooth one. Insurance One of the most overlooked items when planning a trip is travel insurance. Sure it costs a bit to acquire prior to a trip but based on having peace of mind when traveling and the actual cost versus what might be incurred costs as a … [Read more...]

Visiting North Korea (not really)

March 20, 2018 by Dave11 Comments

During a recent visit to Yangon, Myanmar a friend of a friend working in the city informed us about a North Korean restaurant within a 10 minute drive of where we were staying (the Merchant Art Boutique Hotel). My only other experience with North Korea was in Dandong, China. An old military bridge (today called the Friendship Bridge) extends half way across the Yalu River. I was there in the middle of winter and I remember it was extremely … [Read more...]

The good news is there are various possibilities available for everyone that wants to enter the country. One of them is the Visa Waiver Program, which is really popular for both tourists and businessmen … [Read more...]
