FEBRUARY IS MUSEUM MONTH IN SAN DIEGO
39 Area Museums Offer Half-Price Admission
Throughout the month of February 2010, visitors to San Diego can
experience the region’s rich cultural offerings at half-price. During
San Diego Museum Month, visitors can pick up a free Museum Month pass at
any Macy’s location in San Diego County; the pass can be used all month
long for half-price admission for up to four guests per visit at 39 of
San Diego’s diverse museums, cultural attractions and historical sites.
Participating museums include the USS Midway Museum and Maritime
Museum of San Diego in downtown, the Museum of Contemporary Art San
Diego and Birch Aquarium at Scripps in La Jolla, the new LUX Art
Institute and San Diego Botanical Garden in Encinitas and 13 world-class
facilities in Balboa Park, which is often referred to as the
“Smithsonian of the West.” For a complete list of participating

Free Museum Month Passes are available at any Macy’s location in San
Diego County and are valid from February 1-28, 2010. San Diego Macy’s
locations include downtown San Diego’s Horton Plaza Mall; Fashion Valley
and Mission Valley Malls, both in Mission Valley; Plaza Bonita in
National City; Chula Vista Center in Chula Vista; Grossmont Center in La

Museum Month was created in 1989 by the San Diego Museum Council to
promote the region’s museums, historical sites, educational institutions
and cultural offerings. In 2009, more than 19,000 visitors used the
Museum Month Pass to explore San Diego museums at half-price.
