Hanging out street side cafe enjoying the refreshing fan misters and the comforting company of a Serbian version of the Brazilian capiranha. Hanging out in Budapest
Been hanging out in Eastern Europe the past few days. We are having a great time in Budapest so far! Enjoyed 3 hours today in the public baths in various pools ranging in temp from 20C to 40C including the 70C sauna -whew! Did you know some of the residential parts of town are littered with caves under the homes? We spent 5 hours spelunking through a 19km long cave. Old San Juan, Puerto Rico
It was nice to tour Old San Juan. The old part of this city is truly made for walking. At only 1x2 miles you can easily cover most of the old town in 1/2 a day. This is the location to the oldest "western" history in the New World. Buildings date back to the 1520's. Valley Song, to run in Venice CA in March
This is a play that is well worth attending if you are in the Los Angeles area, running from early March for three weeks. We interviewed actress Gloria Huwiler sometime back and she has a starring role in this play. Valley Song opens at the Electic Lodge Theatre on Friday March 4th and runs through March 20th. Back to Europe
Arrived in 4C temps and rain at the Frankfurt airport. Its not even mid Autumn and temps are already frightfully chilly. I was here last month and landed to sunshine and warm temps. Not so now. The FRA airport is like a big city - we drove around in a bus after getting off the plane for a long while. I was originally planning to be in S. Korea this trip but when a friend canceled due to a family emergency I flew over here instead to explore my family's roots in Luxembourg and the countryside. Did you know southern California born General George S. Patton is buried just outside of Luxembourg City at the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial in Hamm. He is the most famous American buried in Luxembourg! This is well worth the short drive from Luxembourg City - hundreds of white marble crosses mark each grave. Fake Money Story!
Recently came upon this brief tale from my first trip to Europe many years ago... Because I was well read up on the possible pick pocket incidents that could happen in Europe, I purchased a cheap wallet in the states, and then promptly slashed it with a Swiss army knife.
