December 3, 2020 by Rik BloomLeave a Comment

Why do I Travel Solo?

December 1, 2020 by Teh Chin Liang2 Comments

When I tell people I am going on a long solo trip, often eyebrows are raised followed by a barrage of questions such as: 'are you out of your mind?' - 'what are you going to do being alone in a foreign country?' - 'won’t you feel lonely?' - 'are you sure it is going to be safe for you?' and 'isn’t it weird doing things alone all the time?” The questions persist and at times I feel like in a military video game on the defensive - holding a bullet … [Read more...]

Blessing of New House Ceremony by Monks, Thailand

December 1, 2020 by Dave5 Comments

Family and friends began gathering the day before this auspicious date. The music started quietly at first but with the giant speakers waiting to be fully utilized, the sound was quickly turned up. This was not a quiet event but a 2 day chance to party! Dishes, utensils, pots and pans were all brought in from the nearby temple and a number of village elders showed up to help chop, dice, slice and prepare a huge feast. The music carried on … [Read more...]

Five Gorgeous European Destinations to Visit

November 29, 2020 by Faisal ButtLeave a Comment

Tourists are searching for places away from the crowded cities. We are longing for nature, large open spaces, and, more importantly, freedom. Itineraries have changed for international travelers, and cities hardly end up on travel lists. Globe trotters are preferring places with pinewood forests and large tracts of farmland over the glitz and glamour of city life. Europe has a lot more to offer than malls or Victorian architecture. You can … [Read more...]

November 28, 2020 by DaveLeave a Comment

Traveling fast enables us to cover as many places as possible. Traveling slow has its perks, too. Meet Ryan & Emily, also known as The Snail Travelers, a couple who have been backpacking around the world at a snail's pace since 2018. In 2017, a sudden health scare hit them with a realization that our time on this earth is impermanent, and every breathing moment is precious. November 20, 2020 by Teh Chin Liang2 Comments

Less than 4 nautical miles from the shore of Marang – a sleepy fishing town on the east coast of peninsula Malaysia, lies a beautiful marine park island surrounded by stunning turquoise waters and pristine sandy beaches. The sand is powdery soft and the texture is very much cotton-like; this is how the name of this island came about – Kapas, a Malay word for cotton.
