February 5, 2006 by David G. Hallstrom, Sr.Leave a Comment

Ninety some miles north west of Los Angeles lies the lovely beach city of Santa Barbara, California where you will find some of the cleanest and best tended beaches on the west coast. The city of Santa Barbara which includes Hope Ranch and Montecito has a population of approximately 90,000 (not counting the students who reside at UC Santa Barbara.) yet it hosts millions of visitors each year. Five Days in Vegas

February 5, 2006 by Michael LevyLeave a Comment

Our plane touches down at eleven o'clock pm after a five hour flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My wife and I start our five day vacation in-famous Las Vegas. For fifty-nine years I have been meaning to pay a visit to the city where anything goes and finally I have made it thanks to a little incentive from Hurricane Ivan. We jump into a taxi and right away the happy-go-lucky driver wants to know if we want to take the freeway or the strip … [Read more...]

Las Vegas, NV

by Dave · 4 Comments

Las Vegas is a large sprawling glitzy city situated in the middle of the high desert surrounded by stark high desert mountains. Words such as surreal, fast-paced and hyper-reality quickly come to mind when describing Las Vegas. Words such as subtle and quiet are not often associated with this city. Las Vegas used to be known as a gambling and casino city. Those who haven't visited in 20-30 years would be absolutely shocked to see what Las … [Read more...]

Las Vegas, NV – Attractions

The Eiffel Tower is well worth a visit to the top. This is an exact 1/2 scale replica of the real Gustav's Eiffel Tower located in Paris, France. If you have never been to the real Eiffel Tower in France this is a pretty good replica. You buy your tickets on the first floor of the Paris Hotel, Las Vegas (owned by Caesars). Note the pretty sky on the ceiling when you walk into this hotel. The twilight of a summer Paris evening never changes in … [Read more...]

by Dave · 1 Comment

There are so many casinos in Las Vegas; one could spend months just visiting, gambling and viewing all of their other attractions. Many of the Casinos, especially located along Las Vegas Boulevard (The Strip) are considered Super Casinos. There are only a few destinations on the planet where you will find a Super Casino - Las Vegas is one of these cities. Las Vegas, NV – Mt. Charleston

by Dave · Leave a Comment

Mount Charleston, (standing just above 11,900 feet) is Las Vegas' tallest nearby mountain and is covered with snow in the winter and offers a break from the heat in the summer. Merely 45-50 minutes from "the strip" this affords an easy day trip and a possible much needed escape from the glitz and glamour of the casino life. Take the 15 north of Las Vegas and exit at State Route 157. A good hike is the Fletcher Canyon Trail (about 2 miles). … [Read more...]

Las Vegas, NV – Shows

by Dave · 1 Comment

No visit to Las Vegas is complete without seeing a show. Shows are incredibly popular and is the main reason why some people visit Las Vegas. They range in price from free often outdoor entertainment provided by the giant casinos to the $100+ per person show. Be sure to pick up a Las Vegas Visitors Guide (published by the Las Vegas Visitors & Convention Authority) - you can find these in or around the casino's - often the local Las Vegas … [Read more...]
