10 Things I Learned During my Stay in Minsk, Belarus

October 22, 2018 by Dave12 Comments

I recently spent a few days exploring Minsk and the nearby countryside. This city of 2 million+ people is at the same time spread out yet rather compact. The city features an interesting mix of noticeable architectural styles mostly dating from post World War II. Unlike a number of Western European countries, Belarus does not yet seem to be on the tourist route. Prices are fairly reasonable and it is easy to get around the historical core of the … [Read more...]

6 Reasons to Take A Food Tour in Alsace with L’Alsaciette

April 25, 2018 by Jaime Scilingo Mazur4 Comments

Alsace-Food-Tours-Alsaciette

I visited the Alsace region of France for a quick weekend over the American Thanksgiving holiday.  I flew into Geneva, Switzerland and then took a train to Basel before transferring to a local train to Colmar, France.  On quick trips such as this, I avoid car rentals.  I prefer to take advantage of public transportation and the deluge of culture that accompanies it.  On this particular trip, I was really looking forward to trying the food and … [Read more...]

No trip to Memphis, Tennessee, is complete without a visit to the Graceland home of Elvis Presley, and with over 650,000 visitors each year, this National Historic Landmark is the second most visited house in America, only surpassed by the White House residence of the US President in Washington. Looking Cool, Feeling Lonely

December 15, 2017 by Juliana Lyons1 Comment

After my first year of college, I was dying to do something by myself. Freshman year was filled with group outings, constantly noisy dorms, and very little personal space. I arrogantly prided myself in being an introvert, and thought I was so cool for being brave enough to travel through Europe by myself. This two-week solo trip was my chance to establish my independence over the summer, and prove that I was an adult. But it turns out that I was … [Read more...]

Fall in Vail, Colorado

December 13, 2017 by Preethi ChandrasekharLeave a Comment

Yup, I'm in Vail, Colorado to experience adventure, romance, and world-class cuisine with my husband, courtesy of Vail Tourism. Growing up in the Bay Area, Vail and Aspen to me … [Read more...]
