Precautions to take before setting off on your travels

July 17, 2015 by John LangLeave a Comment

Travelling is one of the most life-changing experiences you can undertake. Whether you’re just jetting off to a fascinating location for a week or if you’re planning on living out of your backpack for a year somewhere, you’re bound to create unforgettable memories that you can cherish for years to come. Of course, it’s easy to get overexcited and rush your preparations when you have a big trip coming up, but you still need to take the regular … [Read more...]

Sandboarding in Israel

July 9, 2015 by Jacki Ueng2 Comments

When in the Swiss Alps, go skiing, when in the Himalayas climb a mountain, when in the Maldives go Scuba Diving. ... when in the Negev Desert, go Sandboarding!  I have always preferred the sun over the snow and as a result Israel has always been one of favorite destinations. When I was presented with an opportunity to Sandboard for the first time in my life I jumped at the opportunity. Wouldn't you?! Think of snowboarding on … [Read more...]

Layovers are great*

June 27, 2015 by DanielLeave a Comment

I am fortunate enough to participate in non-rev travel. This has its obvious ups and downs. I know where to find free WiFi in Houston International. I've spent dozens of nights sleeping in airports. And I’m certainly no stranger to being stuck in cities I’d rather not be in. When I was marooned in Paris last November, I was faced with the difficult decision of how to spend the next 24 hours. I was exhausted from a brief romp around Spain and … [Read more...]

Dolphin Reef Spa in Eilat, Israel

June 8, 2015 by Jacki UengLeave a Comment

Those who have visited Israel, or watched the satirical movie "Don't Mess with Zohan", will recognize another side of Israelis - one that is not so apparent unless you have befriended them or come in contact with them. Deep inside, they are a bunch of fun-loving hippies and love life like there's no tomorrow. It's all about the Work Hard, Play Hard mentality. That is one of the many reasons I love Israel so much. My third visit to the country was … [Read more...]

Redondo Beach, Plenty to Do Despite the Drizzle

May 23, 2015 by Cameryn Frost3 Comments

The morning that I woke up to go to Redondo Beach, I checked the weather. Rain and lightning storms. I thought about canceling my plans, but luckily I didn't. I knew it wasn't a long drive, so I decided to go for it. Redondo Beach is only 40 minutes south of where I live in LA, and I was dying to get back on a paddleboard. When I arrived at the Redondo Beach Hotel, the sky was blue and it was surprisingly warm. I hoped the storm had blown past. I … [Read more...]

Traveling to Israel / A Trip to Israel

March 24, 2015 by Ezra PaigeLeave a Comment

Traveling to Israel can be a real eye-opening experience. Many people who visit the country for the first time are surprised by how modern it is and how much it has to offer the globe trotter. The country is not big, but it is packed with historical and religious sites as well as great places for quality R&R. Israel has a rich history that dates back over 3000 years. Throughout the country there are remnants of past empires such as the … [Read more...]

Confessions of the First Travel Blogger

March 22, 2015 by Richard Bangs3 Comments

One of these claims to be “The Most Interesting Blogger in the World” I was surprised when I picked up a copy USAToday and saw an item that cited me as “The first travel blogger.” I doubt it, though I was early to the game, not long after Al Gore invented the Internet. In 1993 the term “blogger” didn’t exist, so what I was posting was a real-time serialized account of my travels. If that qualifies, then perhaps the first travel blogger was … [Read more...]

Benxi Shuidong National Park, China – March 2015

March 1, 2015 by DaveLeave a Comment

The highlight of a visit to this National Park is the Benxi Water Cave system (located about 45 minutes from the major city of Shenyang). This 500 million year old cave is the world's longest underwater river cave accessible by boat. It is one of this region's most visited attractions - the temperature is 12C year round - so if you are visiting in the summer its a welcome relief from the heat and during the dead of winter - a huge temperature … [Read more...]

How Todays Hipster Makers Travel

February 5, 2015 by Jamon Mok2 Comments

The hipster maker culture The maker culture, part tech, part traditional, has been taking the world by storm, at least the hipster spaces. Now you can regularly find $90 courses teaching you wood-working, brass crafting or something similar along those lines. Its cool, definitely, but I always feel a little underwhelmed after participating in these kind of overpriced workshops. You make something really really simple (in the interests of … [Read more...]
