Surrounded by rough seas and untouched wilderness, coupled with unpredictable weather conditions, Tristan was founded by a Portuguese admiral named Admiral Tristao da Cunha in 1506.  Edinburgh of the Seven Seas is the main village in Tristan where all … [Read more...]

Mo’orea Highlights, French Polynesia

September 1, 2021 by Dave4 Comments

Mo’orea (Moorea) is only 30-45 minutes from the port in Papeete via ferry. And the port is only 10 minutes from FAA, Papeete's airport. Despite being so close, this island feels world's away from the often busy streets of Papeete. Need Internet access upon landing at the Moorea port? A Vodafone phone shop is within a short walk of the ferry terminal - located next to the gas station. SIM cards plus data plans can be purchased here. Often … [Read more...]

Meet the Brummy who turned his love for his hometown into a walking tour – Rob Ankcorn, the co-founder of Real Birmingham Free Walking Tour

August 16, 2021 by Teh Chin LiangLeave a Comment

It was a grey chilly Saturday morning in February 2016. Most people would have been sleeping in or still tucked under a warm blanket with a hot chocolate by their side. Rob and Ruby, on the other hand, woke up earlier than usual and made their way to the main square in Birmingham. They had a mission that brought a surge of adrenaline rush in them. While waiting nervously for the crowd to congregate, bystanders were curious what they were up … [Read more...]

This impressive property features what is the largest still privately owned family home in the United States of America - the mansion is over 178,000 square feet featuring 250 rooms. More then 1,000 laborers were hired to complete this uniquely impressive home - that somewhat resembles a French chateau. Vanderbuilt … [Read more...]

Call it what you want: The Craft Cocktail Boom. The Mixology Movement. The Mainstreaming of the Fancy Manhattan. The Rise of the Instagrammable Drink. Just remember it’s not exclusive to the West.
