This November, Downtown Tulsa will celebrate the 100th birthday of Route 66 in the Capital of Route 66®.
In cooperation with the Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission, Tulsa will host a statewide Route 66 Centennial Celebration presented by Cherokee Nation Businesses in the Tulsa Arts District on Nov. 11, 2026, 100 years to the day from when U.S. Route 66 was officially established and commissioned as part of the new U.S. Numbered Highway System.
The party will kick off that morning with Tulsa’s iconic Veterans Day Parade also sponsored by the Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission followed by festivities all over downtown and the Arts District. Activities that afternoon include free admission to many of Tulsa’s finest museums with exhibits showcasing the history, impact and future of the Mother Road in Oklahoma. Free entertainment will continue throughout the afternoon, culminating in the ultimate Route 66 birthday party that evening.
As the grand finale, Wilderado will perform at Cain’s Ballroom.
Tickets for the concert will go on sale on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 10:00 a.m. through Cain’s Ballroom.

Governor Matt Pinnell, Chair of the Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission. “One hundred years later, the Mother Road is still driving tourism, creating economic opportunity and telling the story of Oklahoma to the world. There’s no better way to celebrate its birthday than the Oklahoma way—with great people, great music and a great celebration.”

A hundred years later, we’re still welcoming people to Tulsa and Oklahoma and inviting them to be part of the story. Let’s celebrate!”
