arizona-biltmorePHOENIX, Ariz. The Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort (www.arizonabiltmore.com) is planning 10 extravagant epicurean evenings – of innovative gourmet dining, acclaimed wines, winemakers talking about their wines, and after-dinner drinks and cigars – for the resort’s 24th season of Winemaker Dinners.

Each Winemaker Dinner will feature an original multi-course menu, prepared by Executive Chef Gordon Maybury and Chef de Cuisine Bryan Gorton, paired with specially selected wines of a noted vintner. Held in the resort’s historic signature restaurant, Wright’s at the Biltmore, the 2013-2014 season will feature wineries in California, Italy and France. In addition to savoring gourmet dishes and sipping fine wines, diners will learn about the wines from representatives of the wineries, and enjoy cigars and Port or other favorite after-dinner drinks on Wright’s patio.

“We will be working very closely with each evening’s featured vintner to create an edgy and exciting menu of four-to-five courses with ingredients, tastes and textures that will be perfectly paired with the wines being poured,” said Chef Maybury

The 2013-2014 season of Winemaker Dinners will feature the following wineries:

November 7, 2013: Ruffino, Tuscany, Italy
December 5, 2013: Domaine Carneros Winery by Taittinger, Napa Valley
January 9, 2014: Rombauer Vineyards, Napa Valley
February 6, 2014: Cakebread Cellars, Napa Valley
February 20, 2014: Joseph Drouhin, Burgundy, France
March 6, 2014: ZD Winery, Napa Valley
April 3, 2014: Robert Mondavi Winery, Napa Valley
May 1, 2014: St. Francis Winery, Sonoma Valley, California

The dinners, which start with a reception at 7:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m., are extremely popular with food lovers and gourmands, selling out year after year. To accommodate the demand, a second dinner was added in February for a total of 10 in the season, which goes from September through May annually.

The cost is $95 per person per dinner. A season ticket, for $855 per person, offers 10 dinners for the price of nine. Tax and 18 percent gratuity are additional. Reservations are required; please call 602-381-7632.
