TAMIE ADAYA + Hotel Shangri-La PRESENT ‘STREET MEDS’ SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th

Celebrating the artists and photographers behind LA’s Street Art

Art and culture coalesce at the iconic Hotel Shangri-La as owner Tamie Adaya sees the glorious landmark as the perfect urbane backdrop. This September Tamie Adaya and Hotel Shangri-La present Street Meds, a collection of Los Angeles’ illustrious street art, curated by Anchor Cult.

Proceeds from Streets Meds will benefit the Venice Family Clinic. Expect to find everything from poster bombers, graffiti expats, installations and painted skateboards as well as video artistry and photography available for purchase. “I can’t think of a better place for this event than the Hotel Shangri-La,” comments owner Tamie Adaya.

The concept behind Streets Meds, street art injecting resources into medical care for the homeless and underserved, promotes the potential of art generating tangible resources in the community. The hotel’s history is built on giving back to the community and embracing LA’s art and culture.”

Street Meds will take place poolside at the Hotel Shangri-La Saturday, September 18, from 3pm-Midnight. This event is free and open to the public.

TUB WITH A VIEW:
Lush Baths and Extravagant Tubs Distinguish the Iconic Hotel Shangri-La

Overlooking the Pacific since 1939, The Hotel Shangri-La is a beacon of art-deco beauty and culture. Having just undergone a large renovation, owner Tamie Adaya single handedly re-designed the Streamline Moderne structure but still maintained the 1930’s charm that makes it so distinctive. The 71 room boutique hotel offers a portfolio of rooms and suites to choose from; each enhanced by luxurious, deep soaking tubs.

Luxury Suites feature two bedrooms and two lavish baths highlighted by an on suite pedestal tub that sits in front of French windows overlooking a pristine ocean view. “No expense was spared when it came to the baths,” explains hotelier Tamie Adaya. “You can be relaxing in an oversized tub while gazing at the Pacific, turn and you’re watching a large flat screen TV. Some rooms feature bathrooms with retractable partitions.

Open them up and you have a full view of the Pacific and the entire room, you can hold court from your tub!” All rooms and suits are outfitted with Carrera marble bathrooms featuring Frette plush robes, Molten Brown toiletries and Matteo bed linens rounding out the many luxurious accommodations.

“My vision for the Shangrila is a sanctuary that continually inspires and soothes the soul. I can’t think of a better way than soaking in a tub while soaking in the view,” Adaya concludes.
