Beyond Barcelona—Beautiful Towns & Villages in Catalonia

July 3, 2022 by Gabriela KurtzLeave a Comment

The first thing that comes to mind when you think about Catalonia is probably Barcelona. And it's true, Barcelona is its most well-known, and by far the most visited, destination. But Catalonia has much more to offer than just its capital and lots of towns and villages worth exploring. In fact, Catalonia is one of my favorite places in the world, and I could go on and on about the many beautiful places to visit there. From medieval towns to … [Read more...]

Al Dar Islands, Bahrain – July 2022

July 1, 2022 by DaveLeave a Comment

A trip out to these islands takes about 10 minutes from Sitra - an island within the country that is partially set aside for industrial use. Sitra is located about 20 minutes by car from the central part of Manama. You come here for relaxation to enjoy one of several bucolic beaches that surround clear and calm waters. Park yourself on one of the beaches during a weekday (to avoid the often large crowds that descend upon the island during … [Read more...]

June 11, 2022 by Jazmin BrookerLeave a Comment

While travel is fun and rewarding, packing can be tough and annoying. You have to decide which luggage to use, which items to bring, and find a way to make it all fit. And you’d better remember everything you need because once you’re gone, it’s too late. When it comes to the personal care products we pack, everyone’s list is different. With that said, many experienced travelers swear by a specific list of natural supplements. Most of them … [Read more...]

My Highlights of a Visit to Cap Haitien, Haiti

June 1, 2022 by Dave2 Comments

Nonstop flights leave from Miami to Cap Haitien daily (only about an hour and 45 minutes) and the small airport is located only about 20 minutes from town. Arriving in the heat of the day it was a short walk to the entrance to the airport where musicians were jamming some local flavors. A quick breeze through customs (helped by the fact I was the first one off the plane), no luggage to pickup and I was soon outside of the airport where my … [Read more...]

Peace and harmony reign supreme on former historic battle site

The Cromwell Suite

HISTORY is integral to the story of the tiny village of Edgehill in Warwickshire, the scene of the bloodiest battle in The English Civil War. Today, the din of muskets and cannons are, thankfully, confined to those history books and the battlefields instead offer idyllic views from one of the most impressive vantage points in the country, The Castle pub. Perched on the summit overlooking the infamous battlefields, The Castle at Edgehill is … [Read more...]

A heavenly Oasis at Plas Robin Rural Retreats in Wales

May 3, 2022 by Amanda ChalmersLeave a Comment

The word ‘luxury’ is overused – as are ‘tranquility’ and ‘unique.’ Yet, as I discovered at Plas Robin’s retreats in the heart of the rural Wales, sometimes justifiable. A picture, it is said, paints a thousand words and, to be honest, the breathtaking views from these two bespoke holiday homes perched atop the rolling Welsh hillside, do most of the talking! However, it’s only after staying in the Shepherd’s Rest lodge for three nights … [Read more...]
