It is very HOT in some parts of the bay - why is that?
This is true. On the same day at the same time, it might be 60 degrees near the san francisco city front, and at the same moment it might be 85 degrees or even hotter near Angel island or the north part of the bay. Hot air rising in central california pulls cool ocean air in through the golden gate, as this air expands in the bay, the air gets really cold along the city front. As that air rushes in, it causes a venturi affect that pulls very hot air down from northern california. This hot air swirls all around the north bay.
