Budget-Friendly Excursions in Florida

May 16, 2013 by Alejandro A.1 Comment

Florida is an iconic state. When someone says Florida, they imagine sprawling Disney theme parks, bright sun and beaches that attract beautiful, chiseled people. One might also imagine a Florida holiday costing a fortune, but if you plan ahead you can have the trip of your dreams without emptying your bank account, from cheap Florida flights to lazy days on the beach. Try to avoid planning your trip at a time that will coincide with … [Read more...]

Johnny Barnes, Bermuda’s Waving Man!

May 3, 2013 by Dave2 Comments

We were recently in Bermuda and noticed a life-size bronze statue of a waving man next to the road. How many living people have a statue built in their honor? Johnny Barnes was a fixture on the island, spending his happy days waiving for 25+ years from a median grass strip near the capital city of Bermuda, Hamilton. He was still waiving to folks in his early 90's - and was one of the island's legends. He passed on in 2016 at age 93. Here is a … [Read more...]

Beautiful St. George Bermuda

April 29, 2013 by DaveLeave a Comment

I was wandering the harbor front of the quaint town of St. George when I stumbled upon a screaming lady being dragged through the streets by two guys. She had a crazy look in her eyes and her captors where screaming out angry accusations, "gossiper, nag etc". I wondered if I had the guts to intervene on behalf of this poor lady. But looking around I realized I would have to resort to violence to put an end to their crazy actions and seeing … [Read more...]

Lets do it! Enjoying Bermuda

April 25, 2013 by Dave2 Comments

With a geographical location of 32 degrees and being among the gulf stream the island benefits from rather mild temperatures in the winter - and warm moderate temperatures in the … [Read more...]

Spotlight on artwork worth pursuing from four selective artists

March 28, 2013 by Dave4 Comments

An extremely wealthy man from one of the nation's prominent family's once simply told me "collect good art". His reasoning was good: art always goes up in value, often quite substantially especially after the artist dies. Find an artist you are simply drawn to who creates beautiful and inspiration pieces. Chances are, others already appreciate their works. If it is an investment, it might as well be an enjoyable one. One of the most … [Read more...]
