mangos-st-martin Seattle – For immediate release – Experience Bhutan with former National Geographic photographer and Pulitzer Prize finalist Natalie Fobes on an unforgettable tour in September, 2010.

This 12-day tour is designed to take full advantage of photographing during harvest times (chili peppers and wheat) and cultural festivals (tsechus) while enjoying the Himalayas through explorations on foot and by car along the country’s one main road. There will be ample opportunity to photograph the country’s incredible dzongs (monasteries), landscape, villages and people.

This small tour group will receive personalized attention and feedback on photography both in the field and during evening talks. A Bhutanese guide, knowledgeable in local culture, history and religion, will accompany the group throughout the adventure.

During this special journey, participants will discover how the country’s religion is integral in making Gross National Happiness the cornerstone of their philosophy. The group will tour ancient temples, known for their unique architecture, trek in the pristine Himalayas, hike to iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery and get to know the gentle spirit of the people who follow a Buddhist way of life.

Organized by Wanderlust and Lipstick, this tour is open to both men and women. The cost is $5,665 and includes roundtrip flights from Bangkok to Paro, Bhutan.

Bhutan is a magical and remote destination nestled between Northeast India and Tibet. Few travelers have yet discovered this gem that had roughly 25,000 visitors in 2008. This co-ed tour is limited to just 15 participants and is an opportunity to enjoy an intimate and inside look at this remote region.
