Adventure Travel in Quebec

November 5, 2017 by Abdul RastagarLeave a Comment

“Blessed are the curious, for they shall have adventure.” I admit I only know a little about Quebec, that francophone region located right in the heart of North America. I am aware that it is Canada’s second largest (and second-most populous) province. And that 90% of its population lives within just a couple of hours of the border with the United States. But what about the other 10%? Where and how do they live? What’s there to do beyond … [Read more...]

Catching Fish and Memories at Waterfall Resort, Alaska

September 18, 2017 by Dave6 Comments

On an unusually clear day in Southeast Alaska, I find myself peering out the window of a float plane several thousand feet above a swath of wilderness alternating between dense forest and sparkling dark blue lakes. Our pilot was in shorts and a t shirt displaying a prominent skull decked out in a red bandanna framed by the 'cross hairs' of a propeller. I was with a group of journalists on a plane operated by Pirate Airworks. Our departure city … [Read more...]

Put Cornwall in the UK on your Bucket List

September 15, 2017 by DaveLeave a Comment

I have traveled in the UK a number of times - usually short stop overs on my way to other parts of Europe - most often using London as my base for day trips to the surrounding regions. During my last visit, despite being miserably sick - I was able to explore Cardiff and even do some rock climbing in Brecon Beacons and explore an old coal mine. But for all the times I've been to London I have not yet gotten down to Cornall (about a 6 hour … [Read more...]

Visiting Ketchikan, Alaska

September 5, 2017 by Dave14 Comments

For a tiny town, Ketchikan is full of big experiences. Self titled as one of the rain capitals of the country, they average some 13 feet of rain a year, otherwise known as liquid sunshine! One can normally expect to get wet regardless of the time of year visiting. However, remarkably during our two days in town, we had bright blue sunny skies the entire time. When we told people who had been here before and showed them photographs to prove … [Read more...]

The Magic of the Morvan

August 22, 2017 by Cecile Riphagen2 Comments

We, northern Europeans envy the French. Their country has it all: it ranges from endless vineyards, rolling hills, impressive mountains to charming villages, nostalgic Mediterranean resorts, Provençal colours and of course elegant Paris. But we discovered there was even more, Magic Morvan. We escaped our own flat and rainy country for a brief break and jumped in the car without much of a clue where we were headed. South in any case but not too … [Read more...]

Cliff Diving In Panglao

August 7, 2017 by Junfil Olarte1 Comment

The island of Panglao is among the most important destinations to see in the Philippines. It is well known for its white powdery sand and clear waters. Specifically located in the north Bohol Sea, in the Central Visayas region, South-Central Philippines, Panglao Island is famous for its diving spots and is routinely listed as one of top ten diving locations in the world. A bike ride adventure across Great Britain

August 3, 2017 by Alistair McGuinness1 Comment

Twenty years after cycling the length of Great Britain with two friends, I received an offer to do it all over again. My initial thought was to say no, because I had since moved from England to Western Australia and it was a long way to travel for a bike ride. Also, our first attempt had been a foolhardy escapade, with little training or planning, resulting in a harsh lesson into the trials and tribulations of cycling on Britain’s main roads in … [Read more...]
