The Ultimate New Zealand Road Trip

December 3, 2020 by Rik BloomLeave a Comment

2020 has been about as disastrous a year as you could imagine from a travel perspective. Let’s be honest, even as things gradually start returning to some approximation of normality, the idea of jumping on and off planes is still not the most attractive one right now. Yet in the face of adversity comes opportunity, and one thing that many of us have been able to do this year is to explore different types of travel, perhaps taking a closer look at … [Read more...]

Norway has the last few years seen a growth in fascinating architecture and design. Five Gorgeous European Destinations to Visit

November 29, 2020 by Faisal ButtLeave a Comment

Tourists are searching for places away from the crowded cities. We are longing for nature, large open spaces, and, more importantly, freedom. Itineraries have changed for international travelers, and cities hardly end up on travel lists. Globe trotters are preferring places with pinewood forests and large tracts of farmland over the glitz and glamour of city life. Europe has a lot more to offer than malls or Victorian architecture. You can … [Read more...]

The 5 Best Things to Do at the Grand Canyon

November 17, 2020 by Ivana Turkovic1 Comment

The steep, red walls of the Grand Canyon are as iconic as it gets. Miles upon miles of epic hiking trails, photo-ops that look like snapshots of a different world and unruly, dusty wilderness just begging to be explored are just the tip of the iceberg. The Colorado River has chiseled this legendary 270-mile long canyon into something that has to be seen to be believed — the Grand Canyon is a must-visit, there’s no doubt about it, and here is … [Read more...]

Ice Cave, New Mexico – October 2020

October 1, 2020 by DaveLeave a Comment

This is one of the most intriguing natural formations we have come across in our travels around the country and the planet. Located near the Continental Divide off of Highway 53 - the dirt road leading to the parking lot is about 1/2 a mile (12000 Ice Caves Rd). A small gift shop greets visitors when they exit their vehicles - also a 'gemstone sluice' with running water is located here (inquire about panning prices within the shop) and a small … [Read more...]

A Different Burgundy

August 30, 2020 by Cecile RiphagenLeave a Comment

After months of working remotely, tending the garden and repairing fences, early May allowed us to travel further than the restricted one kilometre from our house in Burgundy, France. Although the authorities still imposed restrictions to travel, we took an old fashioned map and drew a circle of 100 kilometres, the distance allowed, to find out where we could go exploring. Burgundy is famous for its wine, rolling fields and beautiful villages … [Read more...]

Visit Rovaniemi – The Official Hometown of Santa Claus®

August 5, 2020 by Jenny SilvennoinenLeave a Comment

What if I told you we have an overall population density of 1,98 persons per square kilometer, which is one of the lowest in Europe, more reindeer then people, the cleanest air and waters in the world. Yet we live in a modern city filled with services and even luxury. Our summer nights are light like the most romantic pink twilight, and that our summer temperatures are mild like the birds milk, as we Finnish people like to say. Would you believe … [Read more...]
