The Blue Lagoon Experience, Iceland

September 11, 2015 by Dave4 Comments

As I pulled out of the airport I saw steam in the distance - making a mental note to come back here I later realized this must be the "sign" of the infamous Blue Lagoon. I returned in the afternoon driving through what at a quick glance looks like a barren wasteland with volcanic rock strewn all about. As you glance across this stark landscape you see no trees - but if you look closer in certain sheltered rock plateaus, there are in fact small … [Read more...]

Zanzibar Attractions that Freddie Mercury Would Love

September 11, 2015 by Eran FeinsteinLeave a Comment

Had Freddie Mercury been around today to return to his birthplace in Zanzibar, he would find an island paradise: magnificent white sand beaches, world-class watersports, historical landmarks, extraordinary wildlife, and fantastic nightlife. He would especially love these Zanzibar attractions: Bohemian Rhapsody at Cheetah’s Rock Judith Peraino, a music professor at Cornell University, teaches that "Mercury intended... [this song] to be a 'mock … [Read more...]

A Travel Corner Guide: Moving to the States

September 9, 2015 by Marcelo B2 Comments

You’ve travelled the world, seen the sights, enjoyed pivotal life experiences and maybe even found the person you love – but now it’s time to settle down in the land of the free. Indeed, the USA attracts many wealthy expats, drawn to the country because of its varied landscapes, melting pot culture and free market capitalist lifestyle. After all, it’s not only Americans who are drawn to the American Dream. But that doesn’t mean that … [Read more...]

How to Uncover the Mystery of the Scottish Highlands

September 9, 2015 by Marcelo BLeave a Comment

Over the misty mountains of a Scottish morning, lochs stretch over the horizon. Deer amble and graze across the bracken and moss, while Nessie lurks somewhere in the deep dark belly of Loch Ness. It’s the Highlands – and it’s bursting with grandeur and mystery. Ask a non-native to think of Scotland and they’ll probably conjure up the image above. People are less interested in the cosmopolitan warmth of Edinburgh, the throbbing nightlife of … [Read more...]

Recycling My Steps on the Riesling Trail

September 9, 2015 by Cecile RiphagenLeave a Comment

Of all my short trips and long wanderings, Australia has remained my favourite. It has opened my eyes to the essence of travel, the kindness of people but most especially to the wonders of nature. Not being the one to spend days on the beach, I spent my time visiting places, hiking in Ranges, going on safaris and exploring areas by bike. Coming from the European flatlands, you learn to cycle immediately once you know how to walk. Cycling is in … [Read more...]

Experience Sunshine Coast my way

September 7, 2015 by Marie NievesLeave a Comment

When you are leading a stressful life as I was, you usually do not even realize it until it is too late. Only after some types of trauma people do start paying attention to the tempo of their lives and how much stress they truly feel. Also, living in modern cities additionally produces a great level of stress which does not occur in the county. Long commutes to/from work, long lines at supermarkets, traffic jams and too many people constantly … [Read more...]

Scuba Dive In The Gili Islands

September 6, 2015 by Nikki Near And FarLeave a Comment

Just a ferry ride away from Bali are the beautiful islands of Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, and Gili Meno. I stayed on Gili “T”, where I put my new scuba certification skills to the test. And this was the absolute perfect location to do it! The water visibility was amazing and the ocean was teaming with an incredible variety of coral and fish. When I arrived and checked into Gili Yoga, I was half-drugged from the dramamine I had taken, just … [Read more...]

3 Easy Ways to Save Time Before You Fly

September 5, 2015 by Marcelo B1 Comment

We all know that getting to the airport on time can be a hectic experience. When you’re not frantically turning the house upside down looking for your passport or trying to find your wallet, your loved ones are doing their best to make sure you have an aneurysm before you’ve even set foot outside the front door. In between shouting from the bottom of the stairs to the top, your youngest child has gone missing in a heap of laundry and the … [Read more...]

Get off the resort! Rivera Maya Mexico

September 3, 2015 by Kala LinckLeave a Comment

Drug lords, bacteria-filled water, pick-pocketers. Mexico sounds like a scary place. All-inclusive, sandy beaches, endless buffets. Mexico sounds dreamy. But how much do you actually know about Mexico? I knew that when a group of friends booked an all-inclusive resort in Rivera Maya, I wanted to get off of that resort. I wanted to see the real Mexico. Were my friends up for it? I didn’t know, but that wasn’t going to stop me. The next … [Read more...]
