albanyGet excited for our Fall Season which will bring vibrant colors to the area,as well as many fun family friendly events!

Albany, NY – Fall is a wonderful time in Albany to experience the leaves changing over to beautiful reds, yellows, and oranges. Albany and it’s surrounding areas offer some breath-taking opportunities to experience the burst of color, whether it’s by car, bicycle, or foot. Taking a hike through Thacher Park will offer Fall landscapes, or you can head to the Albany Pine Bush, to see flora and fauna native to the area. If you want to experience more than just the local flavor the Pine Hollow Arboretum has over 3,300 species of plants, trees, and shrubbery from around the world on their 25 acre property!

In addition to all the outdoor activities, there are many family friendly venues in the Fall. The Palace Theatre will continue their free children’s movies with the Smurfs on August 25th. Goold Orchards also has their 27th Annual Apple Festival & Craft Show which has live music, horse drawn wagon rides, bounce houses, and even a wine tasting for the adults. Families can also kick it into high gear with go-kart racing at K1 Speed, or head over to Dave & Busters for a family game night, to see who can get the most tickets!. No matter what you choose, there are plenty of events going on in Albany in the Fall, all framed by the backdrop of colorful Fall foliage.

Thanks for the info. Upstate New York tends to be overlooked for autumnal foliage, with New England getting preference. But New York is easily just as beautiful.

Yep, Stephen is right on the mark. Upstate NY is overlooked. We take a drive up from Manhattan next month to visit friends in Windsor, NY and Binghamton.
We’ll just miss the changing color of leaves but seeing the Caskill Mountains is always worth the drive during apple season. Good article, Dave.
