Thousands of cocktail enthusiasts join local bars, restaurants and distilleries in celebrating the Town’s unique cocktail culture past and present.

OAKLAND, CA— Oakland will host the first ever Oakland Cocktail Week September 15-23, 2018 in celebration of the city’s unique cocktail heritage as well as local spirits small businesses and employees. Participating bars and restaurants from Oakland, Alameda and Emeryville are challenged with telling the stories of Oakland through cocktails and offering them to cocktail enthusiasts at $10 throughout the week. Tickets for special community-focused events, organized by Drink Up Bay Area (See.Eat.Love.’s event production arm), will be available later this month through www.oaklandcocktailweek.com.

“We’re bringing together the Bay Area community to celebrate Oakland’s unique cocktail heritage and shine the spotlight on the small businesses and people within the industry that help create this culture and community,” says Oakland Cocktail Week and See.Eat.Love. founder Raquel Navarro.

Festivities and events will pay tribute to Oakland institutions old and new while fundraising and spotlighting issues championed by the local chapter of the national non-profit Restaurants Opportunity Center (ROC the Bay).

Oakland Cocktail Week currently includes participation from the following venues: Ramen Shop, Hopscotch, Starline Social Club, Dyafa, Camino, Nido, Alamar, Forbidden Island, The Cat House, Cosecha, Drexl, Bardo, Fort Green, Kon-Tiki, Make Westing, Mari at Angela’s, The Miranda, Oakland Spirits Co., Plum Bar, Spice Monkey, Julie’s, Copper Spoon, Bar Cesar, Lake Chalet, and Umami Mart.

ABOUT ROC THE BAY
Restaurant Opportunities Center (ROC) of the Bay Area is a worker center that brings together restaurant workers, employers and consumers to create just and dignified workplaces for all restaurant workers. ROC the Bay seeks to transform and lift-up the Bay Area’s restaurant industry by eliminating exploitation and discrimination based on race, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, immigration status, age, and ability. ROC provides training for career growth in areas such as bartending skills and ESL classes.
